Obito said Ashura's and Indra's blood were strong, but thinned out after generations. That means they probably first married outside of the clan. One needs many people to start a clan as it is. Indra can't start a clan on his own.

He might of had more than one wife. Then down the road his sons would get married. After that, they might bring in their friends and establish the Uchiha.

Their friends would get married and have children. Then the daughters of the friends and Indra's descendants would mingle with each other and so on and so forth.

Given the fact that Indra's blood was still strong, children were probably born with sharingan even after marrying outside of the clan.

Well they might have different hair color, but that doesn't mean much. White people can be born with any hair color(blonde, brown, black, red) while Asians typically born with only black hair, but that doesn't mean all Asians are related just like the Uchiha.
