i say nagato because if sasuke uses one of his jutsu's pain absorb's or repels it. sasuke has no info on nagato and couldn't have known that there even was a "nagato" all he sees are 6 people with the rinnegan. he would have a tough time fighting a body of pain one on one because their eyes are linked(naruto could defeat a body of pain because of the bigger range of sage mode). i guess pain can absorb amaterasu because it is a justu and if he can't than he just repels it back to sasuke's face
if sasuke does manages to take out one body they change formation and one of the path's that revives(forgot his name) just revives that destroyed body and their back and running
if sasuke would find the real nagato in a way that i don't know they would hold him back from the place were nagato controlls them, and if sasuke would discover the location and meets nagato. nagato would just control him with his chakra and shoot a spike at him like he did to naruto. i don't think sasuke can repel nagato's control with his chakra like naruto did eh.
so in the end i think nagato would come out as a victor

Someone else made a similar thread a while ago. Anyway, Sasuke would likely win because he would see the chakra streams controlling the Pain bodies and would just attack the real Nagato.

Not to say Pain couldn't win...for example if Pain came looking for Sasuke and ambushed him it could be a different circumstance. It would pretty much just go down as Pain tries using shinra tensei, Sasuke uses Susano'o and isn't blown away. He destroys Deva Pain with amaterasu. All the other Pain bodies would be wrecked by susano'o.

ill og with sasuke, cause he has the ms abilities and the yata miror with sword and he could use genjutsu against the bodies, amerterasu and i dont think shinra tensei would work against his complete susannno.

In case you guys didn't know, the 4th hokage already found the secret behind Madara's 'jutsu'. When he physically attacks, he 'solidifies' himself, but when he isn't attacking, his body turns into a fluid. The only way Madara can be hit is when he is attacking. Thats why Naruto's speed makes him capable of defeating Madara.

Hmm..I think Sasuke would put up an awesome fight but in the end it would be Nagato. Naruto had help from the 9 tails that drained a lot of chakra from Nagato fighting it.
To be honest I personally think Naruto would be the only one to actually beat him..not cuz of power but of the different styles between Sasuke and Naruto. Just like I think Naruto would lose to Danzo and his Izanagi simply because of their styles. The fights between Naruto Vs Nagato and Sasuke Vs Danzo were both suited more towards there skill set and would lose if they were switched.

Well... Sasuke is a genius and figured out the secret to Izanaga, and how to beat it, while fighting danzo the power house. Sasuke IS smart enough to figure out pain's secret I assure you

I go with sasuke, but he cant summon snakes anymore he had that skill because he had oro inside him and itachi ripped oro out. Sasuke has the chakra capacity to test pain to figure out the secret of pain while \effectivly countering whatever pain throws at him. In the end sasuke would discover pains weakness and win, IMO

I mean come on there could be a thousand different ways in which he could defeat pain( no disrespect because i am his biggest fan!)
To be precise my theory is that once Sasuke figures out the secret about nagato's jutsu he would go straight for the head once he kills him the rest are useless!
And about the guy who said that the chakra absorbing path would just suck off amaterasu .. my friend you are wrong the eternal black flames cannot be stopped!
And about the blindness problem well he went toe to toe with the 6th Hokage in a battle that semmed to go on forever and after that he had still enough left in him to go against kakashi and also sakura and naruto for that matter !!
Well the thing is that Nagato is one tough dude but if any one can take him on it very well can be Sasuke

U over estimate Sasuke.. The absorbing dude wud suck up all his jutsu. Including his black flame and sasoono. Sasuke is useless against the deva path. Only person\thing that stopped his power was when naruto went six tail and Thats cuz he had his tails in the ground

if that happens sasuke would be out of chakra.plus have u 4gotten deva paths "super village destroying jutsu". it would demolish sasuke. plus sasuke cannot see the chakra from the rods. if he cud then kakashi wud have already found tht out with his mangekyo.sasuike wud not discover pain secret in tym. all pain has 2 do is absorb amaterasu then then super crush susanoo. if sasuke is still alive he will be helpless lyk jiraya was and his mind wud get sucked out.

How can you assure me of something if proof is already provided by my statement? I'll make my next few words a list it so I don't end up typing it out in a sentence and confusing you or myself.

1) Kakashi is smarter than Sasuke.

2) Kakashi figured out the weakness of Pain's powers but not the truth behind Pain

3) Yes Sasuke is smart but he's not as smart as you're making him to be, so if Kakashi is in fact smarter than Sasuke and couldn't figure it out, what makes you "assure" me that Sasuke will magically become smart enough to figure it out? The only reason Jiraiya did was because he has seen the bodies of the Path's before, not because he's the smartest ninja alive. So if you're going to assure me something then at least provide proof like I just did, I don't mind if your opinion is different, however it's not really cool for you to try and say your opinion is fact.

^ With that said, yes that is my opinion, and no it's not 100% fact because I'm not Kishi and don't write the story, but I am going by what Kishi has wrote so far to back up my statements.

well maybe this will be a good question to ask kishimoto? lol kuz apparently he wants naruto & sasuke to be equals, but ppl dont see sasuke on a level of an opponent that naruto defeated, tell kishi to explain himself, or explain how sasuke could possibly beat pain lol, the only thing i could think of is give him help until its down to about 2 pains, just as naruto had lol

Pain would win. Naruto had information on all of pains abilities and still couldn't defeat him. To tell the truth Naruto shouldn't have defeated Nagato. And just figuring out the secret to Pain's paths isn't enough. Naruto had to split the Pains up thus cutting off their rinnegan link. Naruto used his shadow clones and the toads to do this. I don't know if Sasuke can separate the pains that way, so he would have to find another way. And most of his attacks would be absorbed like Naruto's were unless he uses sneak attacks like Naruto, but once again Naruto used his clones and the toads to distract pains attention. Pain would defiantly win this battle.

Sasuke is a genius that's true but it is in relation to his own abilities and let's face it Danzo wasn't exactly making it hard for him to figure out (Sasuke: Hmmm, this guys got a bunch of Sharingans on his arms.
