U.S. didn't become ultra capitalistic until Reagan. So no, the U.S.A. does not represent that. The U.S.A was not founded because the settlers wanted capitalism.
Actually no, it would not. If we get rid of privatized healthcare for a universal single-payer system, the U.S. household would save thousands because we would no longer have to pay monthly premiums. Instead we just get a small increase in tax, but because the monthly premiums are ridiculous in price, then we would instead save money.
That's a dumb rationalization of it. If you're saying something can't work in the U.S.A because of a different form of government, then how does it work in different countries with different forms of government? Why would it not work? Canada is pretty similar to the U.S. yet it has universal healthcare.
It's not free if you pay taxes....so what's your point? We're paying taxes for a universal healthcare system.
Not everything has to be privatized. Some services should be regulated by the government rather than corporate interest, where they could take advantage of the product and the prices as they are doing currently.
Should social security, the police, the army, or public education be privatized then?
