~Ty Lee's visit to Azula~
One-Shot
Walking onto the Great FireNation's steps, the darkened doors swing open and reveal a long hallway. Looking at all the past FireLord's portraits, as well as the new symbol, Ty Lee makes her way to the end of the hallway where she meets a smaller door. Knocking, the door opens and she confronts the FireLord.
Zuko: "Ty Lee? How are you?"
Ty Lee: "I'm okay. How are you and Mai?"
Zuko: "We're doing good. The world is finally at peace...It's better. I actually found my mother. When the word was sent out of me being FireLord, she resurfaced. Today, I'll finally see her again. Mai, Katara, and Aang will be joining me. Would you like to come?"
Ty Lee: "That's amazing new Zuko!"
*Ty Lee hugs Zuko, but when she begins to speak, her face saddens*
Ty Lee: "...But no, I have something else I want to do. Something I have to...."
*Zuko releases the hug*
Zuko: "I've told you before. You can't visit her. It's for your own safety."
Ty Lee: "Why not? Nobody's preventing me except for you!"
Zuko: "And why do you think I am? I'm your friend. I care for you. Seeing her is very dangerous. We never know when she could sn-"
Ty Lee: "Zuko, you have to understand. I am her friend!:
Zuko: "No, you're not. You, yourself, attacked her. You were locked up for two weeks in a cell. Is that what you call friendship?"
Ty Lee: "I was confused! I put Mai's love for you, Mai's safety, infront of what I wanted!"
Zuko: "You still want that? Even now?"
Ty Lee: "Yes. I always will."
Zuko: "I don't approve of this, but...since you want it, then I'll allow it. Who knows? Maybe there's some good left in her afterall."
Ty Lee: "Thank you Zuko!"
(Ty Lee turns around and runs off)
Zuko: "I'll send guards with you!...I don't and never will understand you Ty Lee....or what you see in...her."
On a mountain side, with fire torches lit on each side, Ty Lee, accompioned by two Fire Soldiers,, make their way to the prison.
Soldier 1: "Here's a warning. Be careful of her. We never know when she has breakdowns. She's highly unstable."
Soldier 2: "Also, don't expect to make alot of progress with her by talking. She barely speaks. All she does is cry and scream. It's annoying actually."
Ty Lee: "Don't talk like you know her. You don't!"
They arrive to the prison, and one of the soldiers leads her to a cell inside of a locked room. Unlocking the door, he warns her.
Guard: "Be careful. She-"
Ty Lee: "Just open it."
He opens the door, and Ty Lee lays her eyes on the huge metal bars blocking in her friend. Slowly, Ty Lee walks in and the door closes behind her. Staring into darkness, she puts her hands on the bars and searches for her friend. Noticing, her hazel eyes in a corner, Ty Lee quickly sprints to the end of the right side of the cell bars.
Ty Lee: "Azula!"
(Ty Lee's eyes focus on a very messed up Azula. Her hair is a wreck, and not it's former usual knot. Instead of he normal battle armor, she dawns a black shirt that is cut at several places. Her black pants are also very dirty. Chains on her feet bear her to the corner. A very emotionless expression covers her face.)
Azula: "..........."
Ty Lee: "You have no idea how happy I am to finally see you! I have so much to tell you!"
(Azula begins to slowly and lowly laugh)
Ty Lee: "A-azula...?"
Azula: "..........."
Ty Lee: "Azula, I need to tell you something important."
(Ty Lee begins to cry a little)
Ty Lee: "I am so sorry for what happen ed! I didn't mean for it to happen that way. That isn't what I wanted! Please understand that! I am still your friend! You're my best friend of all time, and will always be!"
Azula: "............."
(Azula begins to look up at Ty Lee, but her head falls back down)
Ty Lee: "I know you're sad! I understand completely, but please forgive me! I know Im asking alot, but..please! I don't expect you too, and I will never forgive myself for what I did...But please!"
Azula: "..........."
Ty Lee: "Why won't you talk to me?!"
Azula: "..........."
Ty Lee: "Azula...please....talk to me! I'm....your friend."
Azula: "........"
(Ty Lee stands back up, and turns to her side, with a tear rolling down her face)
Ty Lee: "I'm sorry Azula.....I'll try harder. I promise. Good-"
(Ty Lee turns around mid-sentence and see's a chained Azula's insane eyes looking back at her, in the face, behind the bars)
Azula: "LOOK AT ME! I'M A PRISONER! A MESS! A WRECK! SHATTERED! BROKEN! I have!....nobody. I'm just a little princess all alone in her little world. I hate i! My father, mother, and brother ALL ARE FAILURES! THEY'RE THE CRAZY ONES! THEY SHOULD BE IN HERE INSTEAD OF ME!"
Ty Lee: "....Azula..."
Azula: "What do you want? Of all people, I DON'T want to see you before my eyes."
Ty Lee: "But I need to see you! Azula, I care for you!"
Azula: "Enough to betray me? Yes, I already know that."
Ty Lee: "I made a mistake! You know I never wanted that!"
Azula: "Ty Lee, what do you want?!"
Ty Lee: "....You."
Azula: "Me? Hah! I'm crazy, remember? I am a mess! Nobody wants me! Nobody! NOT MY MOTHER! NOT MY FATHER, UNLESS IT'S FOR SOME MISSION! I TRAINED SO HARD FOR THEIR APPROVAL AND LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!! What am I to them anymore? Worthless trash. A monster."
Ty Lee: "DON'T SAY THAT! The Azula I know isn't worthless! Azula, you are amazing! Your parents are wrong! You are not a monster! You are a human! You're a person!"
Azula: "I'm a monster....I know it."
Ty Lee: "Why? You should never doubt yourself! It's not YOU!"
Azula: "What am I anymore?"
Ty Lee: "You're Azul! Smart! Beautiful! Powerful! Perfect! You're just hurt right now..., but all wounds heal. To be honest, I don't think you've ever looked better."
(Ty Lee puts her hand on Azula's face)
Ty Lee: "You're still the Azula I know and love. Beautiful on the outside as she is in the inside."
Azula: "No, I am a mon-"
Ty Lee: "No, you're not. That's what people think of you. You don't care what they think! You're Azula. The most amazing person ever. That stuff doesn't bother you anymore!"
Azula: "....But it hurts so much."
(Azula begins crying, but Ty Lee's hand blocks her tears from flowing past her face)
Ty Lee: "I'll always be here to catch your tears."
(Azula stares at Ty Lee, and smiles)
Azula: "What is wrong with me?"
Ty Lee: "Nothing. You're all right."
(Azula hugs Ty Lee through the bars)
Azula: "Will I ever be normal again?...and not locked up...here."
Ty Lee: "You are normal. Just above everyone else. You will get out of here one day, but until then, I'll always be here for you."
Azula: "......."
Ty Lee: "I'll never leave you. Never."
Azula: "Ty Lee....."
Ty Lee: Azula, I'm your friend."
Azula: "My best friend."
Ty Lee: "I love you Azula."
Azula: ".....I love you too.....Ty Lee...Please, never leave me."
Ty Lee: "Never."
(Ty Lee begins begin to cry, but Azula catches her tears.)
Azula: "Never cry infront of me again!.....You'll ruin your beauty. But when you do cry...I'll catch your tears. I'm your friend afterall."
Ty Lee: "My best friend."

Zuko: "Ty Lee? How are you?"
