Only if it interferes with work. Religion is protected in the US. Personally I like seeing people in turbans. I like to pretend that they're all genies. But instead of granting wishes, they yell if I rub them

You know that video is just a show that gives situations just to see how people around here act? The view of one company does not reflect the views of others. I have worked with dozens of people who wears turbans. Personally I could give a rats ass what you wear on your head, long as you get your job done that is all that should really matter. I would say the only acceptable time to say no/give a warning is in a factory Job, because if your turban/cloth gets caught in a machine you could be injured very badly and even die. If you have to ask how it can cause harm in a factory...then you need to go work in one. Its a safety thing for them. Also if the person does get injured they can very well sue the company and factories don't want that.

It really isn't a fear thing, more like America is becoming a nation of dumbasses ruled by even bigger dumbasses. I also wouldn't say we Americans have much culture/religion of our own since 98% of the things we practice have been stolen from other places/times. Also that bolded statement is pretty rude I mean pretty sure if someone brought up something like this about another country NB would be up in arms ready to go. :|

If she wants to be naked, let her be naked. Pretty sure If a guy wanted to do it they would be allowed :|.
@bold Yes i'm aware, lol hence the cameras and the guys comes out everytime. lol.

And which "bold" statement are you referring to.

And also, "americans". Sikhs/Muslims/Christians/Buddhists/Hmongs/Hindus/Jews.. are all Americans. The problem is everything is being "europeanized".. just like Jesus was turned white, and got his name changed from Yeshua to Jesus.
What I was talking about is the "american behavior/culture", that the mexican looking dude in the video was talking about.

Well a restaurant isn't the same a factory.

As I said, if there's no risk, then I don't see a problem with it. So if you find a way to mitigate danger then wear whatever you want.

But if the superiors are not being prejudiced and establish a uniform/rule which pertains to all religious and ethnic groups, then you should be inclined to follow.
Well yea, plus normally a person with a turban would never work in a factory that is dangerous to him, UNLESS he needs the money. I mean i just find it wear people forget that Turbans have been here since the start of ancient civilizations. X_X

Well that's what I mean lol it's just temporary. Wear whatever you want as long as it doesn't put you or your colleagues in danger.
I understood that.:p
And hence I agree with what you said.:)

I was actually assigned this topic for my business law class about whether or not bans on religious garments should exist in the work place.

I believe everyone is entitled to wear what they want, but the work-place is not the time to do what you want or wear what you want. You're not being paid for your looks, but for your efficiency. If you can't be efficient and distract others with your clothing, then you shouldn't wear it.

Most religious clothing are loose and could be potentially dangerous in a factory environment. So I think banning all religious garments and possibly establishing a uniform code would only be fair.

But if the garment doesn't pose any risks or hinder one's ability to work, then I don't see a problem with wearing ii

Bottom line is if your superiors ask you to not wear it and are not discriminating(by asking the same of other religious groups and ethnicity) then you should be inclined to do what is asked.
Even though it is allowed in my country and turban wearing Sikhs kind of symbolism for bravery I have to agree to this u_u
As long as they don't go all 9/11 on me then I'm cool with it.
because of this^ and what that woman said is actually logical.
Westerners cant actually differentiate between religion, hell they cant even differentiate between Indian and Arab..It really sucks when they relate 9/11 to Indians. When we had nothing to with it and are suffering from terrorism more than the west.I am not saying they should do it Arabs or anyone but seriously. There are more chances to die in bomb blast than a car crash :| ,So it is better for you for your own safety to not to look like what they see as a terrorist.
On the second it would be really biased if they say ok to you for wearing turban but refuse other to wear burka...even though turbans are like a cape and fit everywhere.
PS:My views on America is that it is filled with stereotypical retards and I would not recommend any brown guy to live there.Creationists and Jehovah witnesses,KKK,their government sheesh..It is better to see it from far away u_u

turbans are being worn by many people from around the world. The main reason of wearing a turban is to protect your head from the sun in the hot areas. but many people also have religious reasons to wear a turban. i don't find that wearing a turban can impose any kind of problem or danger in a workplace. i have also personally never heard of any Sikh or turban wearing person whose turban got caught in some machinery as they are very tightly worn around the head. but i will still agree with the fact that it may cause some accident.
but to completely deny a person from a job because of wearing a turban is not justified. if the working conditions require a person to remove his turban while working then i think the person may remove his turban temporarily. but as far as i know, the companies seriously don't deny someone a job just because he is wearing a turban.

If your job doesn't want you to wear a turban or anything it should be understood. The job isn't catering to a person's everyday wants, and if people don't care for it then the job has the right to fire them and or refuse them employment. I have no issue with turbans in general, but if the company doesn't wait turbans worn, then why should an individual push its wants onto them. The individual also doesn't have to go to the company also to protest against it.

and to the persons who don't know about Sikhs. i will recommend them to please Google it. turbans are being worn by many people. Sikhs have religious reasons to wear turbans. they are not at all related to 9/11 from any point of view.

Turban should be allowed. If not.. Why is Halloween allowed? People can run around looking like a killer without no body getting scared.

Lol if I own a ranch, would I want to hire a cowboy that wears a turban? No, dresscode dictates that he wears a cowboy hat.

What if he auditons for the role of Batman? Well, how is he ever going to put on the mask with a turban?

What if he is in the air force and is a pilot?

Would't wearing a turban interfere with wearing one of these?

I think it is a valid concern. Far too many jobs rely on having a specific appearance. Also many jobs would find turbans hinderinces to efficiency.
