There are many places that require your head to be shown and etc. And there many people who don't want their employees wearing turbans. The question however is it that person's right to work anywhere with a turban? Or does the other person have the right to refuse a turban wearing person?

Does not allowing turbans show our fear?

Also, another thing that this one mexican dude mentions "should dress and behave like an american, fit in". What is american? Bunch of immigrants from different backgrounds, who still practice their culture and religion. So what is American behavior? having too much self-confidence? Selling drugs and only caring about ***? Thinking about others?

Another, woman asks the question "what if her religion is to be naked?" What is your reply to this? :eww:

SO LETS DISCUSS!!!!!!

I was actually assigned this topic for my business law class about whether or not bans on religious garments should exist in the work place.

I believe everyone is entitled to wear what they want, but the work-place is not the time to do what you want or wear what you want. You're not being paid for your looks, but for your efficiency. If you can't be efficient and distract others with your clothing, then you shouldn't wear it.

Most religious clothing are loose and could be potentially dangerous in a factory environment. So I think banning all religious garments and possibly establishing a uniform code would only be fair.

But if the garment doesn't pose any risks or hinder one's ability to work, then I don't see a problem with wearing it.

Bottom line is if your superiors ask you to not wear it and are not discriminating(by asking the same of other religious groups and ethnicity) then you should be inclined to do what is asked.

Yes, they should be allowed. For God's sake, let people be how they are.
I don't understand this, "be an American and fit in" crap. >_>

I don't think Turbans should be disallowed. It's not like it's harming anyone.

Why not if it is part of their culture and religion and they want to practice it?:|
As long as they don't go all 9/11 on me then I'm cool with it.
9/11 isn't related to sikhism Okami.:|

^^^^ ehhh, you guys might decide to bomb their country, and then try to act like justifiable pricks before they go 9/11, because you idiots, can't even tell the difference in religions.

I agree with this post. If you're in a factory environment or somewhere the garments can cause harm to you then they shouldn't be allowed. Otherwise, wear them!

Well say if you're wearing a Turban, Yamaka, necklace, robe, ect. and it gets caught in the machinery, it can pose danger to the one wearing it. Those articles of clothing are loose and have a higher risk of getting tangled.

Religious clothing also tends to be more flammable due to the nature of the materials and that's not something you'd want to wear in a hazardous environment. It's happened before.

Yet there are many muslims and sikhs working in factories around the world with a turban on. I mean especially in a restaurant business, turban is quite logical, since it prevents hair from falling into the food.

Why not accommodate Factories to be safer for people to work in, instead having them meet dumb requirements.

PS: Turbans are not loose.

Cause themselves harm is what I meant. If the cloth gets stuck in some thingamajigg, it will either damage the thingamajibb or the person will get hurt.

You know that video is just a show that gives situations just to see how people around here act? The view of one company does not reflect the views of others. I have worked with dozens of people who wears turbans. Personally I could give a rats ass what you wear on your head, long as you get your job done that is all that should really matter. I would say the only acceptable time to say no/give a warning is in a factory Job, because if your turban/cloth gets caught in a machine you could be injured very badly and even die. If you have to ask how it can cause harm in a factory...then you need to go work in one. Its a safety thing for them. Also if the person does get injured they can very well sue the company and factories don't want that.

It really isn't a fear thing, more like America is becoming a nation of dumbasses ruled by even bigger dumbasses. I also wouldn't say we Americans have much culture/religion of our own since 98% of the things we practice have been stolen from other places/times. Also that bolded statement is pretty rude I mean pretty sure if someone brought up something like this about another country NB would be up in arms ready to go. :|

If she wants to be naked, let her be naked. Pretty sure If a guy wanted to do it they would be allowed :|.

Then removing them temporarily is the solution my friend.:p
Although refusing someone job due to it isn't righteous in my opinion.

Well a restaurant isn't the same as a factory.

As I said, if there's no risk, then I don't see a problem with it. So if you find a way to mitigate danger then wear whatever you want.

But if the superiors are not being prejudiced and establish a uniform/rule which pertains to all religious and ethnic groups, then you should be inclined to follow.

Well that's what I mean lol it's just temporary. Wear whatever you want as long as it doesn't put you or your colleagues in danger.
