Two tomoe will also allow the ninja to pierce Genjutsu and see the surrounding reality for what it really is. It can also allow the member to pierce another?s body and see their chakra. While the eye is not refined enough to see the tenketsu and chakra circulatory system like the Byakugan, it can view the movement and flow of chakra. This can help them tell if a person is trapped in a Genjutsu, or if an attacker is a real threat or merely a bunshin.

obvisly rei has more than two tomoe, so she can see right through your genjutsu

but I didnt think you needed line of sight to use your genjutsu, I was under the impression that people could use genjutsu as long as they made the seals, sharingan doesnt need seals(I think), but i think thats why they require you to have line of sight, because the eye itself does the genjutsu.

can someone verify or clerify this for me

i think you need line of sight for any genjutsu. Clear line of sight.
and for specials you need and eye contact.

S. Yamato, certain Genjutsu's require you to have either line of sight of your target or even harder you have to have eye contact with your opponents eyes. For the Bringer of Darkness you need eye contact with your opponent. I was one of the first to have used this genjutsu on here and every time I did with Yamato I bound the person with mokuton and I then used the genjutsu on them with Zanji I dont use it until I have them trapped in the Demon Ice Mirrors so that way no matter where they turn I can get eye contact with them threw the mirrors. A Genjutsu that doesnt require eye contact for example is the Toad Song, that one you only need line of sight for.

But there are those Genjutsus that effect the hearing by playing the flute that one you need to have your opponent in hearing distance of the flute.
