Not to mention there is Naruto's rasengan barreling down at it with small fragments of Susano'o only in it's way. If it could of taken the direct impact of the Larger Rasengan, I don't see why Madara would have used the further evolution of Susano'o at that moment.
I can see where you're coming from, Bantos. It's a common effect used on partial or early stages of Susano'o. But, it does look more as if the Rasengan is the one doing the damage hence why Madara has to use the Skeleton form to appropriately defend against it and the fragments of Susano'o we see being directly in contact with Naruto's attack.
