He was far too peaceful of a man. He would do anything to prevent war/killing, and always looked for the alternative method.

If massacring the Uchiha clan doesn't happen, they attack the village, which equals more people dead than necessary.

If he doesn't send the byakugan(which he really didn't send them a byakugan, given the curse seal), they continue the war with Kumogakure.

Given his hype, it's likely Konoha could have won any war necessary with him leading it, which makes it even more remarkable about how he always looked for a peaceful solution, despite being, from what we've been told, the strongest ninja in the series at that point.

Tsunade is far from a bad leader, people really need to stop suggesting wrong things but Hiruzen made Konoha the force it was during two ninja wars so he is better. To be fair though, Tsunade has only had about three years in charge so it is unfair to compare her to Hiruzen.

He was too calm and didn't take stands. While the hokages before him did.

He didn't support the massacre.. And please check the coupd' tate bro there are already enough threads on what it was. Sarutobi himself said that it was the Konoha that would start a war not the Uchiha.

When they took the byakugan.. it just proved he was a pushover.

The second war was won due to Tsunade.. The third war was won due to Minato..

Can you fight like that against someone who had just taken drugs to enhance his physical skills and was a a skilled Root agent? If you can barely move out of fear how are you supposed to fight. The fact that she had the willpower to overcome it is very impressive. Stop spouting rubbish, just because you dislike her, that shouldn't affect your judgement.

But I like the old man probably one of the most bad ass characters in the show. BUT hes not even close to the greatest hokage

Actually she wouldn't have let them be segregated at all. And during her Reign Danzo wouldn't be one of the bosses of Konoha just like now. When Sarutobi was in charge the counsel had alot more power..


Tsunade would have fought the pein himself to.. But the only thing Naruto WANTED to fight pein.. And sarutobi would not have been able to protect as many as she did.


And I can't see the old man Making laws on a Specific Ninjutsu. o-o.

In fact he didn't really make anything at all. He just sacrificed himself.
