Simple thought, how can two transmigrants be alive at once? Both Madara and Sasuke and Hashirama and Naruto were alive at the same time in the war. Hashirama was only an edo, but Madara was actually revived fully. So how can two sets of two people be alive at the same time sharing the same soul?

This is assuming, of course, that transmigration is defined as the soul reincarnating into a new body.

This would also create a plothole in the form of Edo Tensei. The jutsu requires the soul to be in the Pure World. This would essentially prevent any transmgrant from ever being revived this way, as the soul would always reside within a person.

So whats the consensus? Do all transmigrants share the soul of Ashura/ Indra, or do they simply have their presence in their body while having their own soul? Even if its the latter, it creates a strange scenario in the form of two of their transmigrants being alive at once.

It is indra and ashura's chakra that transmigrates not their souls.

The ashura and indra trans-migrants have their own souls

Transmigration is a migration of unvanished chakra , not souls.

Edo tensei was able to reproduce Madara's chakra at the end of his life , this infoimation must be in the DNA of the dead flesh that Kabuto found.

Naruto at some point, points out that he is not Ashura and Sasuke is not Indra, and decided to end the brothers fight. I think this is because they have their own souls and either Indra and Ashura's souls are clinging to their's or their chakra is clinging to them.

But not entirely sure

Poll doesn't lie, but I like this idea. If we're talking about reincarnation, their has to be more involved than just chakra, the soul must be part of it. In Madara and Hashirama's case, Hashirama died literally decades before Madara. This means that for them to pick new transmigrants at the same time, it would require coordination. Coordination obviously requires intelligence. Therefore, it may be impossible for the transmigrants to actually share souls, but maybe this theory of the original transmigrant's soul clinging to them sounds right.
