Its a mistranslation. The word can be looked at as "pandas" which stems from the root (in english characters): dueptu anawe. The correct translation would be "the brave". Which makes the rest of the sentence make no sense, but likely, they made the first error in translating and tried to bend the rest of the sentence to it.
I just read the raw untranslated and it is closer to "the brave ones are...... such naive beings"

I DO prefer ***********, but even they mess some things up. Usually i read both and end up with a fair idea what they were trying to say.
