You have all the jutsu by default, Souji.

Anyway, I see some aren't here yet. Minus 20 points for all that are missing. Anyway, let's begin. From everyone's own words, what is Transfiguration? What makes it different from Charms?

If your bio is approved and you aren't a Head of House, yes lol
And here I was just telling Jinbei to hurry up and teach me.

Anyways, Transfiguration is section/area which deals with objects/people and making them change their form (whether it's the shape or just how they generally appear), transforming them into something completely different. It's able to change the state of a solid into a liquid, a gas into a solid, and all mixtures possible with the three states an item can be. He can even change his bodily features into that of whatever he pleases, for a limited turn. Transfiguration can also cause objects to collapse in on themselves and disappear from existence. Or create objects/items things out of nothing, all controlled by the movement of the users wand.

This differs from charms as charms add different properties to existing objects, changing what they can do, but not what they are.

I think I mainly used my own words for this, but read the jutsus to get an idea of what to write. So, if things are too similar I can re-do it.

Ayy that's good. 100 points to Gryffindor.

Now, before we go on to the first Spell, we have to discuss Transfiguration a bit more. First thing to note about Transfiguration is that virtually anything is possible - except 5 things. These 5 Things form what are known as the 5 Principal Exceptions to Gawp's Law for Elemental Transfiguration. Can you guess them?

Welp, these are gona be some mad guesses, made possible with the aid of google.

- You can't conjure up a living thing out of nothing/bring back a dead person through whatever means
- Can't use healing charms on damage dealt by Dark magic
- Can't create food out of thin air
- Can't create money.

Transfiguration is similar to Charms but different in the fact that it transforms something into an entirely new form, vanishes it, or 'conjures' something to us. This includes what erzo has mentioned; Changing liquids into gasses, solids into liquids and gasses into either one. So basically with Transfiguration you could conjure a sword to you, transform
Said sword into a chair, and make the chair vanish to a new position. I even saw that vex mentioned something like "all charms are Transfiguration but not all Transfiguration are charms" so both are similar in a way.

That's all i can say in just my own words tbh.

Transfiguration is magic concerned with altering a thing's material state in some way, including: completely turning an object into a different object, changing an object's state of matter, changing the substance an object is composed of, conjuring a new object from nothing, or vanishing an object from existence. This differs from charms because charms is concerned with altering an object/its affects without changing its material makeup; instead, charms simply adds properties.

Exceptions under Gamp's Law, with what I'm more certain about listed first.
1. Food cannot be created.
2. Money cannot be created.
3. A person cannot be brought back to life.
4. Wounds inflicted by dark magic cannot be healed.
5. Clothes cannot be created.

Also, in our RP we can't transfigure things of such complexity that they'd be an element that the user doesn't know, but I don't think that falls under Gamp's Law.

Alright, I'll deduct 10 from each person that didn't reply at this point. So that's both of Gryffindor here, one Slytherin, no Hufflepuff and no Ravenclaws. Right. So that's -20 from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff and -10 from Slytherin. Also, Inch and Erzo gave 4 correct out of the 5 each lol.

Food: It’s impossible to make good food out of nothing. You can summon it if you know where it is, you can transform it, you can increase the quantity if you’ve already got some already, but you cannot create it directly. This doesnt extend to water and soups, however. Just food itself. This in relation to the RP doesnt matter much though.

People: You cannot use transfiguration to transfigure a body from a state of death to alive. Raising the dead is a no, as well as reanimating them. NOTE: By reanimating them I mean actually raising from the dead, not animating the corpse in a way similar to zombies (Inferi).

money: It's impossible to magick money out of nowhere or otherwise it'd devoid the entire wizarding world lol. No need for anyone to purchase shit when you can replicate any amount instantly. You can copy and duplicate it BUT it never lasts; it always disappears moments later so it's still pretty useless. This in relation to the RP doesnt matter much though.

Abstract things: Now, this one is a bit trickier. With certain potions, you can replicate intense emotions, but it wont be the actual feelings. With a custom amormentia potion, for example, you can make a powerful infatuation or obsession but not actual love. This in relation to the RP is a non issue though.

Injuries via dark magic: Wounds inflicted by Dark Arts cannot be healed via magic or any other known means. This means that if something like Septemsempra lands, it will cut the opponent in such a way that the injury can be healed and stopped, but the missing limb will not be able to be regrown. If an arm is targeted, they can stop the blood flow but not the injury itself.

Questions?

''NOTE: By reanimating them I mean actually raising from the dead, not animating the corpse in a way similar to zombies (Inferi).''

I feel like there should be more to this. Are you telling me I can make my own zombie out of a corpse?

''you can make a powerful infatuation or obsession but not actual love. This in relation to the RP is a non issue though.''

As for this, if you use it on the opponent so they look at you... passionately, even if only for a couple of turns, would it not mean they'd have no desire to kill you? It can sorta be an RP thing if you stretch it, but I'm just spouting random thoughts lol.

No other queries.

The clothes thing has to apply somehow or else Madam Malkin'd be outta business and the Weasley's wouldn't be so ratty. <___<

But I digress, no questions.

Sorry, meant to reply earlier. And Necromancy is a field of Dark magic that's only allowable as Inferi, who h are akin to zombies. It'll be a CCJ for the clan. Outside of that, no other applications of it will be possible.

Your second question can't be answered because the only way to do this is via a potion. Our potions aren't ones that target the emotions to replicate or mimic anything of that nature. However, if we did have a love potion, it'd make the opponent like you but that wouldn't take away their ability to think rationally. I.e. if they fall in love, it won't make them think "well they just sent a gigantic fireball at me, I'm so smitten by them I'll stay her and get hit"
ANYWAY.

Transformation - Supplementary ( D - S )

Thought of as the most basic of the four types of Transfiguration, transformation spells focus on deforming the physical features of an object. All Transformation spells are triggered with the spell ( Permuto ). Transformations are divided within 2 types, easily seen based on their applications and targets. The first Basic Transformations, reminiscent of the Transformation and Combination jutsus, are transformations that change the physical properties of a targeted item. This allows the user to change the properties of an item to give it new traits or properties. The user is able to transfigure a solid into a liquid or another solid, a liquid into a solid or into a gas/another liquid, or a gas into a liquid or another gas, all of proportionate size and directed at speeds based on the natural speed of the item manipulated. These items can only be basic items in the sense of they cannot turn something into the properties of an element the user does not have, nor can they change the properties of something created by another Kisei unless with equal or higher power/chakra. Of course, the amount of chakra used must exceed the amount of chakra present in the object being transformed for any change unless the object has no chakra present in it at all ( like a simple chair, stone, pool of water, etc ) in which case it is transformable with a simple D rank application of the spell for small things A for larger things. With an S rank application, the user is able to transfigure his own person and take on temporary enhancements such as using mahou to transfigure his upper body into that of a shark, or his legs into that of a bear, etc, and can only lasts up to 2 turns each usage and can only be used 3 times. The second, Switching greatly resembles general transformation, but with with two main differences: firstly, the features of the two targets are switched simultaneously; secondly, the change in one of the pair is dependent on a change in the other. For example, if the armor on a statue is targeted with the user's clothes, then the two items will be "switched", akin to the outcome of Substitution jutsu. The only restrictions applied specifically to this type the items must be of comparative size and within mid range of one another. Transformations of any kind can only be used once every 3 turns and cannot target sentient (living) beings besides the user.
Alright, so this is the basic yet most useful one. You can transform anything with less chakra in it than the rank of the spell you use. If you hit a solid ninjutsu, you can turn it into another solid or a liquid. If you hit a liquid, you can turn it into another liquid, a gas or solid and if you hit a gas, you can change it into another gas or into a liquid. You can turn a liquid based CEJ into a cloud of air, or a wall into a stream of water, etc.

One neat trick with this is that you can change it into thing that isnt an element you do not know, meaning you can create basic a golden sword but it will not have the same properties (S/W) of Gold Release nor be as durable as it ( same rank as rank of spell used, basic item ). You can create or change things into elements you DO have with their properties, so while I can only create, for example a shower of acid rain, you will be able to create clouds of Poison Release, with the same S/W as normally. This works on chakra cost, not damage nor rank so if it has A rank chakra but does 150 damage, use of the S rank version will still work on it.

Switching allows you to switch the properties of two items as long as they are of similar size and in mid range of each other. Why, you could switch armors with an opponent...

S rank application of Transformation allows you to alter your body if you wish, taking on animalistic traits if you wish. This lasts 2 turns and up to 3 turns. Inversely, you can simply create an S rank transformation with this that follows the basic transformation rules.

Questions? Since this skill just gets stronger with each rank and does more, we'll only go over the jutsu once and with each rank you progress, you can use the next rank
