Before I teach you the techniques we'll go over a little bit of theory. I want you to tell me what wind is in the Narutoverse by answering the following;

- Explain the wind element in general and how can wind techniques be created?
- Wind can have various characteristics, the most common one being the blowing characteristic of wind. What other characteristics can wind take on with the right techniques?
- Name two elements (KG included) wind is strong against and also tell me why by explaining the chemical reaction when said elements collide with eachother.
- Same as above, this time however name two elements wind is weak against and why.

Alright, let's rock u-u

In the narutoverse the wind element is most commonly used with weapons, either by enhancing their cutting capabilities or even extending their reach like Danzo's infusing technique to his shuriken. Or maybe Asuma's trentch knife technique. They may also increase the speed of projectiles if bursts are released behind them to push them forward or away. Another common usage is gusts of wind by swinging large or even small fans, manipulating the air currents. Speaking of which, that is another one. The manipulation of the air currents like the Suna Nin in the chunin exams that had the "invisible blade".​

Wind can take on the cutting edge ability, either releasing blades of wind like the invisible blade I spoke of earlier or coating a blade to increase it's cutting and piercing. One could even extend the reach of common weapons like Asume's trench knifes. There are also dusty ones, like the one Asuma used in edo tensei form, releasing a dusty mineral-like stream of wind.​

- Name two elements (KG included) wind is strong against and also tell me why by explaining the chemical reaction when said elements collide with eachother.

Wind is strong against lightning because the lightning can't be conducted or travel through the wind so it is a natural insulator. I don't know if black lightning would count as a KG or not, so maybe I won't mention that one. Would storm release be a weakness because of the lightning aspect of it? Or would the liquidy substance cause it to cancel out? or be equal perhaps? If that's the case, maybe the wind can defuse the lightning in storm release, I am not too sure on this one.​

Wind's natural weakness is fire because the oxygen in the flames simply fuels it more, causing it become bigger and such. Although, if there is an overwhelm large quantity of wind it could potentially blow out the flame, overloading it with gusts and such. I think maybe scortch would be strong against wind because it is similar to fire in terms of heat and such. I am not quite sure on this one.

Correct, Storm Release although consisting of both lightning and water is mostly dependent on the lightning aspect and thus wind is indeed strong against Storm.

Scorch technically isn't fire, it's basically just temperatures that are so incredibly high that it'd evaporate water thus wind is equal to it.

Then I want you to aside from obviously performing it analyze the technique by giving me the pros and cons of the technique aswell as ways it could be used in a fight and then if I feel like you missed anything I'll just add to it etcetera. I personally think the best way to learn is to actually analyze yourself without being told the ins and outs in detail until after you first analyzed it yourself.

(Fūton Kihon Jutsu) Wind Release Basic Technique
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Rank: D-Rank
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Description: The user will release basic simple blasts or streams of wind from his limbs or mouth to defend or attack an enemy.
As the name implies this is a pretty basic wind technique, simply mold your wind chakra and release a few blasts of winds from your limbs or expel a stream of wind from your mouth. Analyze and perform it ^^

I pretty much meant what you described at the end of what I just quoted. Depending on the size and strength, I think wind still has the potential to take out certain fire techniques. I really can't imagine a D ranked tennis ball sized fire ball going up against a tsunami wave of wind. Logically, it would cancel it out, but the remainder of the wind wave would continue, correct? Or would I have to imagine that the wind wave magically vanished because it went up against the natural weakness?

And thank you for linking me to that thread, I will surely take a good look at it. Another guide to burn my eyes with. :p

After hearing his instruction Dosu stands up and enters his notorious stance, having his back hunched over, making him appear way shorter than he actually is. He places both of his hands to the side of his body, having his extremely long sleeves hanging on their side. He then begins to mold chakra as he straightens up his back slightly, drawing in air. While doing so, he infuses the air with his chakra. He then begins to shape it as he quickly exhales it outwards, using his tongue to create a small opening between the bandages covering his face. It is then that he releases a small and steady stream of wind, causing the leaves around the area to blow and scatter everywhere.

Although it is not necessarily a con, this technique can only release projectiles and similar things up to a mid range distance. That in my mind, for such a weak technique is actually a plus to it. A con, which again I don't mind being one is that the technique doesn't have enough strength to fatally wound a target. For example, since it is so low in ranking advanced shape manipulation is not used which means no slicing winds and similar methods. Now for the pros, I really like the fact that it can be used in numerous ways depending on the situation. If my limbs are bound, I could release wind from my mouth. If I am stuck in a close combat situation I could release a blast from my arms or legs, allowing me to knock over my target or even create an opening. I would use this technique in a sneaky way, taking advantage of my long sleeves in order to release a blast of wind from them that would be like a make-shift canon, releasing it from the sleeves blow in the wind.

Good job on the technique, the technique might indeed be useful for a quick blast when engaging an opponent in close-range since the technique is quite fast being so simple and only a D-Rank, though at the same time that means the damage is quite neglectible and wouldn't leave a proper opening.

Description: The user creates a gust of wind that layers an area in loose sand and dust. Doing so also acts as a sandblaster on the surrounding area. This layer of sand that accumulates on the trees during this technique makes it difficult for others to get a good footing. The initial gust can also temporarily blind opponents by lodging sand in their eyes.
Create a gust of wind to gather loose sand and dust from the ground and blast it forward, pretty straightforward really.

(Fūton: Sensougouheki) - Wind Release: Rumbling wind wall
Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defence
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: User creates a wall of spinning wind in front of him that is used to push back weapons thrown towards him. It can also be used against taijutsu close range attacks, but the wall can be pushed back with a stronger wind jutsu or if a smoke bomb or explosive tag touches the spinning wind they will automatically get activated because of the sharpness of the wind element, damaging the user also.
Create a spinning wall of wind infront of you, it remains stationary though and is purely a counter based defence.

Using a similar concept like before, Dosu inhales while infusing the air with his chakra, quickly molding it as he exhales and releases the wind in a stronger manner. As opposed to last time, now he releases the wind in a more wide spread manner, allowing him to create a gust instead of a stream. The gust is aimed low and towards the ground, causing all the debris to be blown forward, creating slippery conditions.

A negative note about this technique would be it's range. Due to it's already weak nature, I would be unable to cover a wide spread area with sand and such, which is a very bothersome thing. Although a lot of popular fighting terrains possess dirt, sand and debris, this technique can still not be used everywhere or on all conditions, like when it's raining. At least not to blow debris and sand. Although it may hinder the target's view it doesn't cause any damage. It is very hard for me to find some positive notes about this technique unless it is used in a specific way in order to catch the opponent off guard. I would use it in a dense forest area, allowing me to coat the trees and such with sand just in case the target wants to move through them.

Dosu begins to release his chakra out and manipulate the air currents in front of him. Using shape manipulation he begins to control the air in a way that allows him to create a small wall of sharp spinning wind.

A very interesting technique. Although it is simple in nature it could be quite useful. For example, the range is not an issue here because it is a defensive type technique as you stated yourself. It can be used to defend against low ranking taijutsu that might catch me off guard, pushing my target away. This technique can also be used to defend against thrown projectiles like kunais and such. The neat thing I noticed about this technique is the ability to detonate things like smoke bombs or paper tags. If used correctly, it could be very beneficial to the user. As a way to use it in battle, if I saw my opponent charging towards me with a explosively tagged kunai, I might even be inclined to create the wall as I leap backwards away from the potential explosion, or if he releases it close to him, causing the explosion to back fire on him. A con I also noticed is that this technique might need constant concentration, meaning I cant do other ninjutsu techniques in the meantime because its not something like a released projectile of water.​

Exactly, the technique could be better though if you manage to pull it off and you actually send debris into your opponents eyes you'll gain a major advantage for your follow up attacks.

Description: This technique allows the user to change direction in mid-air at high speeds by simply blowing wind out their mouth. The user can also use this technique by blowing it at the ground and causing a dust cloud to rise, concealing the users location and movement.
Note: The user must already be airborne to use
Although a D-Rank this technique will be able to help you get out of many pesky situations and all you have to do to perform it is blow a fast blowing stream of wind from your mouth. Can be used in mid-air to change directions and move through the air aswell as on the ground to create dust clouds and such though the latter is alot less useful. I walk upto you, grabbing onto your collar throwing you upward at a high speed while sliding a kunai with an explosive tag attached to it into my free hand, throwing it towards you as you're in the air set to detonate once it's in point blank range of you "You might-.. want to avoid that, try the technique"

(Fūton: Kaze Iwa Rendan) - Wind Release: Wind Rock Barrage

Well, if you're still alive here's the next technique. Create a huge stream of wind racing across the ground to 'pick up' loose rocks along it's path and use the wind to lift your target into the air after which the rocks hit him. -Creates a clone- "Try it out"

Well, if you're still alive here's the next technique. Create a huge stream of wind racing across the ground to 'pick up' loose rocks along it's path and use the wind to lift your target into the air after which the rocks hit him. -Creates a clone- "Try it out"

As Dosu is thrown into the air, he inhales while molding his chakra and quickly exhales. During that process Dosu reaches into his pouch using the left hand and grabbing a shuriken. He continues by releasing a fast stream of wind while moving his head to left side, causing his body to be propelled to the right side. In that same motion Dosu releases the shuriken, trying to deflect the incoming kunai just in case he doesn't get out in time or to potentially avoid a follow up move. Moments later Dosu lands back on the ground and begins explaining the technique.

It seems like a very useful technique if I launch myself into the air, allowing me to dodge certain techniques depending on the situation. It can also be used as a means of traveling, getting faster to my destination if I am in mid air. The plus is that this technique is a stronger, or similar version to the gust I previously learned to blow away debris and sand, obscuring my target's view of me. The cons of this technique are that it needs a set up, having to be on the air to use it, at least effectively, although it's other usage is just as good. It's a shame that the technique isn't strong enough to knock people back with some damage, it is more of a supplementary technique or defensive. The way I would use it in battle would be limited, since Ive already learned so many gust related techniques to push debris, I might just use this technique to move myself in mid air and change locations.

After the clone is made, Dosu repeats the same process as before, to then exhale the wind and release it in the form of a powerful gust that picks up dust, and even rock fragments, a sign of how much stronger this gust is as opposed to the rest. The gust rushes forward along with the debris, aiming to strike the clone and lift him into the ground, creating a death trap of earthen debris.

This technique is pretty much similar to all the ones I have learned previously. However, it seems to be strong enough to push even rock debris so that's a huge plus. Speaking of rock debris, it means I need to be on a terrain that has rocks like a barren waste land or something very similar, maybe using it after an earth-style technique has been destroyed. I would use this technique if maybe I had already set up the hidden mist jutsu and I was in a barren land or I had rocky debris to play with. I would blow my own mist forward but I would also blow the debris without my target seeing it.

Well, there's plenty of other techniques that would allow you to move out of the way when you're on the ground, not as much for when you're in mid-air ^^ and yeah, this technique is generally only ever used by pretty much anyone who does use it to move around in mid-air.

Not a bad idea in theory but your opponent would notice the mist being blown backward, easily indicating that something is coming his way so not much of a stealth technique xD

Rank: C

Description: A simple technique that when the users hands are clapped together, wind is compressed and transformed into a powerful gale. This technique, when used as an isolated attack has the power to easily knock over a human. Though the true value comes from using it together with projectile weapons like shuriken or kunai. Their speed, power, and ability to wound or even kill are all increased several times.
Mold wind chakra into your hands and clap them together and using the momentum of the clap compress the wind and transform it into a powerful gale. Not as useful when used on it's own but since it can be performed quickly and easily it could prove quite useful to enchance projectile weapons by greatly increasing their travel speed.

(Fūton: Kaiten Shuriken) - Wind Release: Rotating Shuriken

Description: This technique will infuse wind-based chakra into bladed weapons. The user can than manipulate the blades in a spinning manner to attack the target.
Best used in conjunction with one or more shuriken. Infuse a couple of shuriken with your wind chakra and immediately after releasing them mold the wind chakra around each shuriken to basically clad each in a small orb of wind, these orbs can be manipulated seperately to attack however you wish. The orbs appear to have a certain extent of density to them as they were shown bouncing off of a rotation in the anime and remained pretty much intact though you will have to remain focused on the technique to continously manipulate the orbs.

Dosu quickly begins to mold his chakra around his hands as he forcefully claps them together. The raw force of his hands being clapped along with the aid of his wind chakra allows him to release a blast like gale of wind that pushes the dust and debris forward. After doing that, Dosy repeats the same process however releases a senbon beforehand, causing it's lethality as well as speed to in crease.

A very neat technique, I really like this one. The clapping of hands could be associated to a whole number of techniques so it makes it very hard for the target to know what you will be doing with the clapping of hands. You could confuse them into thinking you are performing a strong jutsu when in reality you are knocking them off balance to finish them off with something else. I like the fact that it can be used to increase the speed, force and strength of projectiles causing them to travel faster. How fast would you say they can travel from short to mid, and short to long as opposed to regular projectiles?

Dosu reaches into his pouch for two shuriken, to then undertoss them with no effort whatsoever above him. As they are thrown, he focuses chakra around them in order to manipulate the wind and create two orbs around the shuriken. He manipulates the orb so that the shuriken begin to rotate faster as he manipulates them forward, creating a deadlier attack.

Can this technique be used with bladed objects such as swords? Or only small projectiles with blades? The con is that this technique only goes up to mid range and it has to be constantly fueled with chakra. Although, it's understandable so I shouldn't really state it as a con. The plus side is that it allows you to manipulate projectiles in more random and versatile ways to strike your target. If I had the hidden mist set up and the raining technique, I would locate my target and manipulate my projectiles with the orbs of wind in order to strike them.

A very neat technique, I really like this one. The clapping of hands could be associated to a whole number of techniques so it makes it very hard for the target to know what you will be doing with the clapping of hands. You could confuse them into thinking you are performing a strong jutsu when in reality you are knocking them off balance to finish them off with something else. I like the fact that it can be used to increase the speed, force and strength of projectiles causing them to travel faster. How fast would you say they can travel from short to mid, and short to long as opposed to regular projectiles?

Can this technique be used with bladed objects such as swords? Or only small projectiles with blades? The con is that this technique only goes up to mid range and it has to be constantly fueled with chakra. Although, it's understandable so I shouldn't really state it as a con. The plus side is that it allows you to manipulate projectiles in more random and versatile ways to strike your target. If I had the hidden mist set up and the raining technique, I would locate my target and manipulate my projectiles with the orbs of wind in order to strike them.

Dosu performs the hand seals he was instructed in order to mold his physical and spiritual energy in the right way. He then creates in a very sudden manner a strong gust of wind that extends very wide and tall, enough to cover the distance in which his vision covers. The gust travels forward, pushing everything.

This technique is amazing. Although it is a low rank, it has the potential to cover a large wide spread area. The wide spread can be as large as the user's line of vision, which is quite a lot. Although it requires a lot of hand seals it even has the strength to reach up to long range, this means that if my opponent tries to run away they will be blown even up to long range. I would use this technique if my opponent went into the air.​

Dosu starts of by performing the ram hand seal, focusing and molding his chakra and the air currents. He then begins to shape the currents in a rotation manner, allowing him to create three small tornadoes that are roughly twice his height. All the tornadoes begin to circle around Dosu.

This technique has potential but I don't like the fact that it's range is so limited, only being short range. This means that it has a lot less uses than one could hope. Another con is that it has to be used with a fire technique to be fully effective. However, this means that the strength will increase. It requires the usage of one hand seal which might prove to be hard if used in close range to the target. I would use this technique if I had maybe clones trying to surround me, I would create several ones to try and push them and away from me.

I would have to spend a move, a fire one from the list in order to get the +10 Damage boost, correct? If so, wouldn't the technique be stronger if used in combination with another fire technique, that would increase the overall rank? Like this C rank plus a C rank fire technique, making it a B rank combination?

After performing the hand seals that he was shown, Dosu molds his chakra and thrusts his hands forward in a Kamehameha motion, releasing a large horizontal vortex of wind from his hands, causing it to travel forward with great force.

Although it requires quite a bit of hand seals, this vortex could prove to be useful if the user wants to create combinations that needed to rotate their elements. For example maybe releasing a source of water and then releasing the wind, giving the water a rotation type vortex torrent feel to it. A plus is that it is strong enough to reach up to mid range distances as well.

I'm not sure if you want to me to perform the first technique or not? I do not have a technique to use it against, Senpai. I can, however tell you the pros and cons I notice in the technique. First and foremost, it is a great technique because you are able to slice through any or at least most logical wind techniques up to C rank, if your bio doesn't specialize in wind. However, this means that there would be no attacks continuing forward, you are simply canceling it out with the same elemental release. Although it may not be favorable, there might come a time in battle where it is better to cancel out and not using something stronger. Another thing I noticed is the range of short. It means the gust can only travel up to short range of the user. This means, that the enemy's wind attack has to get up to short range reach of the user in order for this to work. Depending on the enemy and his known techniques, this might not work in the user's favor. The pro as well as con is that it has the potential to cancel out even B rank wind techniques, however you need to finish the wind release training as well as place it as a speciality in one's usage.

He continues to rotate the currents in a vortex-cyclone type of way. He directs the cyclone to travel upwards and then arc into the ground a few meters away from both Dosu and his teacher.

This technique looks every similar to the low ninjutsu ranking ones that creates petals. Does it work in the same way? And by that I mean, creating the "petals" by manipulating my wind chakra to form it that way. Or do I "summon" them to the field somehow? Or perhaps I need sakura trees around the terrain to use this technique? Sorry for all the questions. If I create the pedals then this technique is pretty good to use, however it requires a lot of hand seals. What I like is that it's a more aggressive type of vortex technique as opposed to the techniques I've already learned. The downside is that it only reaches up to mid range and that I assume would require constant focus on the vortex to keep it's form.​

I have a feeling you'll like this one. Infuse your sword with wind chakra and swing it across infront of you and release the chakra from your sword in the form of a powerful whirling gust of sharp winds, capable of dealing cuts to your target while pushing them backward. The technique does say a whirlwind but as you see in the picture it's a actually whirling gust. You have to make sure to get the timing right when using this technique as it relies on the momentum of your swing.

The technique does say a whirlwind but as you see in the picture it's a actually whirling gust. You have to make sure to get the timing right when using this technique as it relies on the momentum of your swing.

Dosu smirks as he then reaches over to the left side of his waist area with is right hand. He slowly places his hand on his katana's handle. He then begins to pour and mold wind chakra around the blade as he quickly unsheathes it in a quick motion, swinging the blade out of it's scabbard from left to right in a diagonal fashion. As the blade is being swung, Dosu releases all the built up wind chakra and expands it while viciously rotating it and turning it into compressed sharp winds that continue forward in a cyclone type whirlwind manner.

As for cons, it is obvious that needing a sword is a negative to this technique. Although not a weakness per say, it still means you are required to carry a weapon to perform this technique, without it, it's not possible. The plus side is that you can continue to swing the blade, and jutsu moves to keep releasing wind attacks instead of inhaling, exhaling or manipulating wind currents by weaving hand seals and such.

The technique is quite vague on why you can use either one or two hands but since it doesn't state anything about being able to release multiple waves I'd say it's just cosmetic. As for how you described performing it, it's not a thin wave which only cuts. See it as a wave of blowing winds mixed with sharp winds.

Also, mid range really isn't a disadvantage even if they would move into long range to avoid it they'd still have to use a technique to do so.

No, the sword won't be coated beforehand you just release the wind as you slash which is basically the same as you do with the previous technique but instead you do it with a sword in hand. If a technique doesn't state it actually coats something it essentially doesn't.

This technique can only be used with a fan, to learn it use mine *throws you a giant folding fan* infuse the fan with your chakra and wave it across infront of you, then as you wave it across release the chakra into the wind currents created by the fan's movements and shape it into a single spinning disk of sharp wind, resembling a demon wind shuriken. Pretty straightforward.

This technique is a combination of bukijutsu using the fan to attack your target physically aswell as wind release *creates a clone* dash towards my clone holding the fan in hand and strike him with it, sending him flying from the blunt force impact then wave the fan across and release from it a blast of wind pushing the clone away even further while the blunt force of the blast also deals some damage. If you ever find yourself in close combat with an opponent while holding onto a fan this might come in handy.
