Love this gen! Freedom and Creativity are all I ask for in a technique, this gives me room for both. With a simple snap of the fingers, the user can make anything in the terrain appear as if it was the source of the sound and can add a visual illusion to back this sound up. The genjutsu basically makes anything in the area snap in half. Be it floor, scenery, object... It snaps and end up impairing the opponent in some way. For me, a perfect use of this tech would be to modify the terrain we are fighting on to the point that all we stand on is a make-shift bridge of earth, the bridge hanging high above a vast water source. You "snap" the bridge and make the opponent believe he is falling. Straight after you perform a water style technique from the water source below, making something jump up from it's surface. Whilst the opponent attempts to stop himself 'falling' into the water technique you use a technique that can attack from all directions, leaving the opponent unable to use wind to push themselves out the way of what they think is a water attack from below. Follow up with a kunai and I believe that's game.

Would that work? If they believe the bridge has collapsed and that they are falling, the following water jutsu should work on the way I described, correct?

---------

This is a technique I actually made as a custom for Musical Manipulation users, they play there instrument and send sound chakra into the opponents ear, making said instrument all the target can hear. So as you can imagine, I already have many uses for a jutsu such as this. It's a perfect set-up for a simple kill. The more extravagant the follow up the less likely it'll work IMO. A clone with a kunai and you're dandy.
What if they fly???????????????????????

If they fly... Then I've discovered there talents! And I'd use it differently. Collapsing the walls as well as the bridge, even if they fly, it'd take them a moment to register that they're falling so they'd be below the highest point of the walls of the pit I made. The rocks would imaginarily knock them down into the water and so on and so forth

O__o

I keep forgetting this training is still going on................

(Ototon: Himei Zetsubou no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Scream of Despair Skill
Rank: B
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: Similar to the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill, the user concentrates chakra into their vocal cords, amplifying his/her voice and lets out a scream, roar or a yell. The effect is a large emission of low frequency, high amplitude sound waves but instead of a forward attack, its manipulated into an omnidirectional sound blast that expands outwards all around the user, pushing attacks and enemies backwards with might.

This one GO!!!! then we move onto A ranks.

It's a very nice jutsu useful in situations where your opponent manages to get himself out of your view goes great with a perfume that Lili created and really provides a perfect combination defence/set-up for a kill on opponents with heightened reflexes... Although that's not part of this thread.

Attacking everything in your surroundings, I can think of a few nice combos using this alongside some weapon scrolls that would be pretty hard to avoid in most situations. So yeah, all in all it's nice. Helpful as a defence as well as an offense when used alongside other techniques.

We'll keep with Visions approach to teaching these techniques, if you don't mind. I'm over the template so much. xD

Do you have any questions about the technique before we move onto the next one?

That is fine, no questions. One thing I wonder about sound in general however... Techniques there they travel through water, does one use the technique whilst underwater, use the technique from above but aim it into the water or set up the technique out of water then enter the water to fire?

You can be in the water, you can aim the sound at the water, the sound technique can pick the water up as you release it, etc... I'm not to sure if the canon techniques allow you to redirect water techniques thrown at you by your opponent, but I know there is a custom that allows you to do that.

Made by Oraan.

Ototon/Suiton: Māmansonābīmu | Sound/Water Combination: Merman Sonar Beam
Type: Attack
Rank: A
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: the user, being submerged in water, channels sound chakra into their lungs and screams at a certain resonate frequency. The Sound picks up the water and travels as a combination towards the opponent. The sound/water combination then travels at an incredibly fast speed towards the opponent. The speed of this technique gives it incredible piercing power. The sound waves and water continue to spread out further as it travels, a small vortex with a 3 meter diameter.
Note: Can only be used 3x per battle
Note: This technique can also be used to deflect an A Ranked or lower Water technique back at the opponent as a sound/water combination without the user being submerged in water.
Note: No Sound or Water techniques in the same turn.

---

Alright so before moving onto A-ranks, three favourite B-rank sound techniques and why, please.

Okay, my three favourites. In no particular order would be:

(Ototon: Chūnyū no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Infusion Technique
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: A simple technique where the user touches an object and infuses it with sound chakra, enabling it to vibrate and produce a low frequency, high amplitude sound. The vibrations cause objects to bounce off of the targeted object which is highly useful when fighting with weapons or to make thrown basic weapons resist opposing thrown weapons.. It also resonates to the user if he were to be blind (because of a genjutsu for example), letting the the user know the objects position and what it deflects. It can also be applied to solid objects or structures the user may wish to destroy or, by applying it to the ground or similar, detect what is around him by making it resonate with the same low frequency. The object gets no added power, only the ability to deflect incoming objects that want to counter it.

Because as one who chooses the bow and arrow as RP weapon of choice, anything that can give arrows a higher hit percentage is something I can make use of easily. This technique would certainly grant me that ability, making my arrows indeflectable and forcing them to be blocked in different, possibly more challenging ways. This is the main reason, but not the only.

( Ototon: Teisei Tame Inu) - Sound Release: Whispers to the Canines
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user gathers Ototon chakra in his vocal chords. He then whistles, releasing a high frequency sound wave, creating a sound similar to a faint buzzing in the target's ear, similar to Ringing Madness. However, instead of causing a foe to become disoriented, it impairs his hearing, making the buzzing the only thing that he can hear, seeming as if the target has bees swimming around his ear. The buzzing drowns any sound out, unless they are exceptionally loud (i.e. great explosions, one yelling directly into the target's ear, etc), making it very difficult for the target to hear incoming jutsus or attacks.
Note: Hearing impairment lasts 3 turns

My fighting style (when I truly do decide to fight properly) revolves mainly around misdirection, it's a stealth approach if you will. This technique goes hand in hand with that approach. My most used technique is probably Hiding in the Camouflage technique, and that should be all I need to say for someone of your standings to realise that the combination is one that would remain married for life.

Sometimes, it is the simple things in life that are best. Omni-directional is probably my favourite word in this RP, one can never be too safe.

Interesting picks.

(Ototon: Ōkī Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Greater Echo Assault Skill
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: This is a much greater and focused version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique in which the user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Unlike its weaker technique, the massive power it carries makes it slightly slower, equal to an average equally ranked Raiton technique. Unlike the unfocused nature of its weaker version, its focused almost like a beam, affecting an area of 50º in front of the user. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.

Same as the other one with a slight change, it's more like a beam and affecting 50 degrees in front of you. And it is slightly slower then a lighting technique. Compared to the other one where it is faster.

I like this one, mainly because of the wording of it's directory. Anything that covers an area that is defined with degrees grows as it travels. All degree act like a cone, the longer it goes on, the wider the gap between two edges becomes. Given that the technique is long ranged, we can pretty much destroy anything long range from our position without any room to manoeuvre around it. Basically, it's near unavoidable at long range. Couple that with its innate strength when travelling through water and you have a technique that possesses no real counter.

Opponent at the bottom of the ocean, a growing beam of invisible death coming toward him... that's dead.

Nicely done.

(Ototon: Kireme Yure) - Sound Release: Shattering Vibrations
Rank: A
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user gathers a large amount of sound chakra into both of his hands, creating a vibration field around them that resonates at different, yet low, frequencies. The user will then slam both hands together, forcing them to resonate with each other and explode. This creates a massive sound shockwave that pushes back anything in front of the user in a 160º radius.

Everything up to 160 degrees radius will be pushed back in front of you, by simply clapping your hands releasing a massive shockwave. Handy for those higher then B-rank techniques, so it can only push back A-rank and below. Again doesn't destroy them.

That's a nice tid-bit you've given me there. I never would have thought of using it to push back techniques, I'm assuming that would only work with chakra-less techniques... So techniques that my opponent no longer has control of? Or would it not matter how much chakra is present, so long as it's B-low ;)

It's a nice technique, typical sound technique really. Nothing too extravagant but a downright wonderful defense. No handseals and performed with just a clap it makes for a hard to anticipate counter to anything that may have you stumped, again by having the technique measured in degrees it means that the wave grows as it travels. Could provide an incredibly difficult offense if timed correctly with a mid-range opponent using a projectile jutsu. Knocking it back into their face before they've even finished spitting it out. Counter that, douchehead!

Pushes back things even with chakra in them. ;d

(Ototon: Jakkuhanma) - Sound Release: Jackhammer
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A (60 if contact with the ground remains)
Description: The user charges Ototon chakra into their feet as they run, releasing it as each foot hits the earth and makes sound. As each steps sound off, low frequency waves are released, each wave causing an immense vibration to propagate through the ground and into any enemy, making their bodies lose balance as the waves collide with the target repeatedly. As the waves continue to hit the target, the vibrations increase and cause internal pain, almost as if each wave is drilling into the target's body, causing the target to also become nauseous from the continuous waves. Despite its danger, the technique can easily be defended by simply severing ones contact with the ground.

Pretty much releasing sound as you run, or run on the spot. Every time your feet leave the ground they release sound hitting your intended target causing internal damage, and they get worse and worse as time goes by and as long as you are running.

I like it. This may sound weird, but one of my favourite things about the tech is the fact that it offers the opponent a counter in its description. By saying that, it plants it in my opponents mind... This is the way to defend against it. Do this. So they do, its a natural response. If someone gives you something and says try this, you try it. Whilst some would see it as something that limits the technique, I see it as a surefire way to control your opponents movements, its like the technique was designed to effect the person behind the screen, not their RP persona. Real Life Genjutsu.

One thing I'd love to ask however is, would this technique be limited to solid ground use? Or would anything you can run on suffice? So Water, animals backs.. etc.
