Alright.

As the name suggests, concealing techniques deal with concealing your movements and actions in such a way that they are virtually invisible to your opponent. Typically the difference between these techniques and deceptive techniques is that the latter may replace one thing with something else and thus provoke a completely alternative response. Concealing techniques will simply negate the sensory comprehension of something all together and have it slip under the noses of your opponent. I've described deceptive techniques as creating a false sense of security to some degree. However, these sort of techniques are capable of doing the same by completely neutralizing an aspect of one's move or actions. At the same time it can also increase an opponent's reservation due to the complete dissolution of an one's presence from their opponent. It is a matter of how you conceal yourself and how you chose to deceive your opponent.

Generally deceptive and concealment techniques work well together. You can create a false happening that fools your opponent into believing one thing while simultaneously concealing yourself. In this way, you your actions aren't questioned because the deceptive aspect of the technique redirects your opponent's attention and you are free to move however you like.

There is at least one hybrid technique like that in the canon techniques.

Yes, and it is usually you yourself that is being concealed. You can conceal other things like the nature of techniques or other entities. Find me three techniques that you believe are in this section and copy and paste them here from the canon list. Don't explain them, just post them.

(Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou) — Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape
Type: Supplementary
Rank: D
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, appearing to dissolve into a shower of cherry blossom petals. These petals surround the opponent, blocking his vision. This allows the user to mask his movement effectively.

(Kaunda Genjutsu) — Illusionary Arts: Hazy Illusion
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This is a simple and not to difficult to discern genjutsu. The user places the target in an illusion where they see the world around them heavily distorted, preventing the target from discerning his surroundings while within the illusion. The technique also gives the impression of the target sinking in quicksand and thus acts as a means to immobilize them slowly.

(Kokuangyo no Jutsu) — Bringer of Darkness Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, causing the opponent to believe they have been trapped in a world of infinite darkness, where their sense of sight is useless. It is capable of affecting multiple targets within range. However, it does not negate their other senses.

(Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu) — Mist Servant Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: D
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This illusion creates numerous illusionary clones of the user that appear to emerge from the ground, trees, rocks, etc. If these clones are attacked, they appear to multiply. The user can co-ordinate his attacks with the clones to make it appear as if they are real.

And I believe this would be an example of a concealment/deceptive hybrid

All of these are correct. Now what I want you to do is to describe to me how you would recognize these techniques as genjutsu. All of these should be relatively easy to figure out.

(Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou) — Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape

One giveaway is the fact that he dissolves into cherry blossoms and then my sight would stop working, but I'd still be able to hear what's going on. You'd think the petals would make a noise as they surround you, but they don't. You could still hear the actions that are actually occurring.

(Kaunda Genjutsu) — Illusionary Arts: Hazy Illusion

The fact that my vision just happens to get distorted is a giveaway.

(Kokuangyo no Jutsu) — Bringer of Darkness Technique

Even though everything turns to black, trees would still be present, the terrain would remain the same, and my hearing and sense of smell would recognize the same stuff going on

(Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu) — Mist Servant Technique

They wouldn't have chakra networks, and they're attacks wouldn't actually do damage since they aren't real. The fact that the original needs to coordinate attacks to make it appear real proves that they can't actually do damage.

The technique isn't soundless. When Kurenai used it, it seemed to have background noise so I wouldn't really say listening in is the best way to try and figure out somebody's position while being trapped in this illusion (unless you have enhanced hearing). However, as you said, the means of discovery is rather easy.

Yes, if you go to the Wiki and look at the technique (quite literally it's just the Hazy genjutsu), you'll see how the technique is.

This is incorrect, you won't see anything other than yourself (and potentially any clones you may have). Unless this technique was used in a game that suggested otherwise, the Bringer of Darkness turns everything into a pitch black void. This technique is purely ocular in nature. Though, again the fact that everything else with the exception of yourself is void in your vision, is a dead giveaway.

This one takes a bit more of a process since you can't just assume that appearing from the ground like they do indicates that they are illusions. You need to discover through trial and error whether or not these clones are real. Like you said they don't cause physical damage unless attacks are coordinated. However, you should also not that they don't disappear when hit. In the event you're not a dojutsu user or chakra sensor with powerful enough eyes to tell that there is no chakra network, you have to go on something else. When you attack them, they distort but they reshape as if made of some malleable substance. This is a property unlike any other clone. E-rank clones disperse upon contact, physical clones take physical damage and even the restructuring properties of some clones like rock clones, they still take physical damage that is noticeable.

Understood

Btw, regarding the Bringer of Darkness tech, I meant that trees and everything still exist in nature, so I could feel them, I just wouldn't see anything at all

What's next?

(Magen: Narakumi) — Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing
Type: Supplementary
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user performs two handseals causing it to appear as if a swirl of leaves surrounds the opponent. The swirl eventually falls away, and after a few seconds, the opponent sees the image of whatever they fear the most, shocking them and potentially causing them to faint.

(Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka) — Illusion Technique: Hell Fire
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion where the opponent sees a huge ball of fire descending from the sky and enveloping its target.

(Konoha-Ryū: Yanagi) — Leaf Ninja Art: Willow
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 35
Description: The user waves their sword back and forth, which when seen by the target locks them in a genjutsu which causes them to hallucinate multiple waving arms. The movement resembles that of a willow tree blowing in the wind. With the enemy off guard, the user is free to cut them down.

(Shinkirō no Jutsu) — Mirage Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 30 (+15 per turn active)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The Giant Clam manifests a realistic mirage of itself along with its summoner, the Second Mizukage, which is almost impossible for most observers to distinguish from the real thing. This property makes the technique ideal for concealing the actual location of either individual, resulting in confusion amongst the opposition as their attacks are rendered ineffective and they attempt to ascertain the pair's true positions. However, to maintain the illusion, the clam must continually exude a mist from its siphons throughout the entire duration of the ability.

Note: Can only remain active for 3 turns

Actually, I lied there is one more. It's another servant technique essentially.

( Genjutsu: Kasumi no Jutsu ) - Illusion Technique: Mist Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user creates an illusionary clone that charges towards the enemy, jumps, then explodes in a cloud of cherry blossom petals which results in confusing the opponent and obscuring their vision, leaving them open for attack.

Tell me the give aways

Why isn't this a deception tech??? It even says how it confuses the opponent. Wouldn't that imply deception?

I get that it does conceal your movements and allow you to attack while they aren't focused but...

Anyways, giveaways would include
- clone not casting a shadow
- clone not making any sound as it moves
- Not feeling the cherry blossom petals

Reason is you have a clone appear and then suddenly explode into a field of cherry blossoms like the flower petal escape technique. How isn't that concealing. This could potentially be a hybrid technique but the fact of the matter is this would fit more under concealment since that is the primary objective of the technique.

Next is deception

Deception it is.

Now the concept seems redundant since all genjutsu possess the nature of deceiving your opponent. However, the techniques in this section don't possess any of the paralysis, concealing, or hypnotic effects of the other methods. Specifically these techniques are designed to deceive your opponent regarding events and that would otherwise go unnoticed as genjutsu but would provoke certain actions. If we didn't have the metagame factor this method would be much more useful than it appears to be. Though the techniques in this method tend to be the most inconspicuous in nature. They attempt to be harder to figure out than other techniques. I'm currently working on a hybrid technique that utilizes movement restriction and discrete occurrences.

Currently, the Drunken Monkey Fist fighting style utilizes illusions of this nature based on a concept I gave away to Chris. Some of the illusions in those techniques are good examples.

So as you said, all Gen encompasses some form of deception. To identify these Gens as solely being deceptive, it just can't have elements of paralysis, concealment, or hypnotic effects. Seems straightforward
