Can I just emit chakra from the bottom of my feet regaining my balance and allowing me to stay some what buoyant atop of the mud? i.e. I won't sink into the mud. So this would have the same idea as Water Surface Walking or Tree Climbing Practice?
Or I could emit Doton chakra from the bottom of my feet, solidifying the mud and wrapping to about the ankles in earth, which would immobilize me, but would at least allow me to regain my balance. I should then still be able to counter any techniques in this state, remembering that I wouldn't allow myself to remain immobile and would allow myself to 'rise' from the earth back to ground level or whatever using a simple Earth release technique *create a small pillar for example?
Or as you stated, I would have gone for a spike to grab hold of. For instance, (Doton: Doryūsō) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Spears, would be a useful one as it can allow spikes to be produced from mud which is convenient.
Once balance is regained, then you are free to defend yourself further or attack or whatever. That's my take anyway. I have no idea if these are possible, just some ideas.
Yeah but the mud would be risen too and still beneath you. I don't know, I'm probably not getting what you mean, sorry.Oh, ok. I see. But wouldn't what I did work too? Since it causes the ground to rise, I could regain my balance by causing the solid ground underneath the mud river to rise up and allow me to regain my footing? It also gives me the high ground.
@Broly: you could if the chakra was stronger than C rank. Since the technique is C ranked your chakra has to overpower it in order to connect with the ground.
You could, but it gives your opponent the advantage and the upper hand to control the fight. As I said, it's always about defending and attacking at the same time, and that you would get with what I described. However, maybe a smaller spike or stick would be of better use than those piercing ones.
