Strong pointsCOrrect, I believe you can only use this in Short range and that would indeed mean no traveling. Also, if not done swiftly, you leave yourself open to counter when you grab them.
(Doton: Gansetsukon) - Earth Release: Rock Section Cane
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Offense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: This technique allows the user to take a small chunk of rock and turn it into the shape of a staff. The user can then use it as a melee weapon or throw it with pinpoint accuracy at their opponent. A variation of this technique allows the user to create several staffs and launch them at the target, but with less accuracy.
Taking a piece of earth (can be a small rock large enough to fit in your palm) and turn it into a staff of earth that you use to strike the target with. Can be used for short range combat or can be thrown (I'd say up to mid range).

- This technique can be effective in short-ranged fights against people who have weapons. Instead of fighting barehand if your opponent has a weapon you could use this to immediately create your own weapon.
- You can make more than one staff and double, or even triple wield in melee combat, so it's pretty useful low rank technique.
- Not having to use hand seals it's always a plus, I assume.
- If the user uses the second variation and makes more than one staff, the user should not throw them because they become less accurate proportionally to the amount of staff's created.
- Additionally, the staff's are not that strong, and could probably be destroyed by any weapon capable of channeling chakra in short range.
- It's an low rank weapon so I assume it would be easily destroyed by an lightning release technique.
As I said before, I would use it to create a weapon and I will use it in short-ranged fights against people who have weapons.
Ways to counter this technique
I would probably use an lightning release jutsu to destroy it.
