[VS] Tournament to pirate king LEVEL 2: Blackbeard v. Rayleigh

Ok we are turning the crank to level two where only the strong survive! We’re kicking this fight off with Blackbeard v. Rayleigh!

Blackbeard and his dark dark fruit might have a little trouble with the dark king! Only one way to find out!

The rules are simple!

Vote on who you beleive will win in each particular match up! It does not matter what the circumstances are! The character who wins the most votes and defeats their opponent gets to move on to the next level! Last man standing is crowned Pirate king!!

REMEMBER:
1-discussion about match ups is encouraged!

2-characters will have 24 hours to tally votes!

3-After the 24 hours are up in the case of a tie, the next vote wins! (For anyone who waits to be the tie breaker I will obstain my vote to break the tie if need be)

4-characters should be judged based on whatever the majority decides. For instance if you beleive weevils hype is enough to beat his opponent and the majority agrees with you then that is the answer. If everyone decides to use pre time skip luffy then that is the decision of the majority! So with that said, no opinion is too far out there!

THE WINNER SHALL BE THE UNDESPUTED PIRATE KING UNTIL OTHERWISE DETHRONED!!

Rayleigh is a fodder that rides on hype. I'm leaning towards BB. Good luck trying to solo BB after he sends your sword to the Shadow Realm, Rayleigh.

then I honestly have no idea. But if it's old Rayleigh then Blackbeard will obviously win.
The only we know is that his Haki is the strongest in the series right now even stronger than his former apprentice Shanks. They both equally can knock out 1,000 fisherman pirates with Supreme Kings Haki.
He bested Kizaru in their little battle even Kizaru admitted that if they were to capture Rayleigh that they would need more than just an admiral to do it.
Swam the calm belt so he's physically strong for his old age. First mate of the Pirate King's ship.

On the other hand Blackbeard is a Yonkou. And pre Gura Gura he was about Yonkou First Mate level considering his power to overcome a top level captain of Whitebeard's crew.
Not to mention he also was the only pirate who gave a yonkou shanks a permanent scar before becoming a yonkou.

I admit that is one of the biggest wrenches and I've always thought Zoro and Sanji would play a role in beating BB at the end for that reason but I don't think it's gonna cost him the win here. He can still use YYnM to suck Rayleigh in towards him and dark hole to suck up attacks etc. Plus now he has a 2nd fruit and before he had any fruit he was able to scar Shanks.

There is no rule it's up to the voters, but if you use prime Rayleigh then you'd reasonably have to use prime BB which would be EOS BB so does it really make much of a difference. I mean it'd be dumb to pit a prime version of a top tier against a non prime version of a top tier right?

Rayleigh's too OP. Light speed traveller dude is. Blackbeard has his feat of hurting Shanks he would be able to keep up. That Rayleigh tho. Kicked a lightspeed attack like candy.

It is the same. We have no real grasp of what either could and couldn't do in their prime. It's not like there's reason to assume BB will die before peaking out.

We can kinda assume what blackbeard will be like in his prime.

I doubt he will ever be as powerful with the gura fruit as wb so we should think of him as a slightly weaker whitebeard with the power to suck you in and negate your df

Doesn't matter if you take the best form of one you have to take the best of the other or else you're already skewering it in a particular way. Current to current or best to best makes the most sense. If you want to base your vote on prime Rayleigh vs current BB that's your call.
