All right, here's the rundown: the Grandpa has alzheimers and can't remember/understnad things well. The granddaughter is sad because she doesn't think he knows her, because he keeps calling her "Gina", and not her real name "Karen". The Grandpa then saves half of his burger for "his favorite grandchild, Karen", who is the girl sitting in front of him. She's happy that he remembers her, even if he doesn't recognize her.

There.

I thought that that was pretty obvious =/ considering it's just a summary of what happend. There's nothing to understand there. But what was the point of that entire commercial, what's the link now exactly with Mcdonald's outside eating there.

They have one in france too. They are targeting the gay market. I don't really understand though... Didn't gay people come to McDonalds or whatever fastfood franchise before ?

The second one is trying to make a point about how McDonalds doesn't judge your gender, looks, or orientation.
The boy is Gay. His father comes up and tells him about how he looked just like him as a teen. And that the son could've gotten all the girls. In which case the son can't help but smile.
Hence the. "Come As You Are"

Props to McDonald's for tackling the issue in the second commercial, as awkward as it may be. It's surprising that McDonald's, of all places, would put out such an undiscriminating, shall I say groundbreaking advertisement, even if it seems weird.
