I don't see a way to end this besides TNJ'ing Sasuke, isn't that the whole point of the manga?
The whole thing was manipulated to give the fans the token Naruto and Sasuke fight which should have happened before the fight with Kaguya. Naruto MUST save Sasuke or the whole story never had a point, Kishi is on dangerous ground.
The story's point was for Naruto to become Hokage, not save Sasuke.
The story's point was for Naruto to become Hokage, not save Sasuke.
Naruto said that is he cannot save his friend then he did not deserve to become Hokage, he also said that he would shoulder Sasuke's hate and die with him, this is what he could do for Sasuke, if Sasuke dies and Naruto lives, or he fails to save Sasuke then this make Naruto a liar and a failure, if he can't save Sasuke then he dies with him, this was his word, anything else would destroy him as a character, also killing Sasuke is not something that would be believable for Naruto to live with.
And I disagree, Naruto does not need to become Hokage for the story to work but he does have to save or die with Sasuke or he becomes a liar and has not kept his word and resolve, the very fabric of his character. And since the end of the first part the focus really has been on saving Sasuke.
Hashirama couldn't save Madara. Tsuande couldn't save Orochimaru. What Naruto said was stupid and flat out false. Naruto needs to learn that he can't save everyone.
the whole point of Naruto is that he saves everyone, he is supposed to be the exception, make it different ad he is no different to everyone else the story dissolves as i pointed out.

He didn't save Neji. So no, he is not an exception.
Does it dissolve or does it change? Is it a story of a will so great it defies all reasoning, or of a boy accepting the limits of even his own great power and becoming man.
At any rate, I'm not sure why you're so sure Sasuke is going to end up dead at the end of this fight. I'm pretty confident this will end with the classic Naruto TNJ as all arcs tend to do.
I feel that Kishi has forced this fight between Naruto and Sasuke to appease fans, it felt forced and I thought it was a trolled chapter for a moment.
Still I suppose that this is where Naruto and Sasuke fight and Naruto saves Sasuke. I Naruto kills Sasuke and doesn't die with him the story will be blown to pieces, we know Naruto doesn't die so unless Kishi is going to destroy Naruto as a character and have him kill Sasuke which would burn the manga to the ground, Naruto is not going to start hating his friend, I guess this is Kishi's way if having Naruto finally save Sasuke.
Remember the key to Naruto's character is that he NEVER goes back on his word and the core of the sotry was Naruto saving Sasuke, so I guess this is where that happens?
If Sasuke dies, all hope for this manga is lost...It wouldn't have a point then...I agree with you, this fight is beyond forced. After Sasuke helped in the war there really wasn't a reason for a fight, but I guess you have to please the fans.
