Top 5 list of characters you feel really impacted the plot of the series in the best way

1) Orochimaru (Really made the first part of the series awesome)
2) Itachi (Best Plot twist in the series)
3) Tobi (Mastermind behind Akatsuki and this war)
4) Jiraiya (Raised Naruto up and helped him improve)
5) Madara/Hashirama/Minato (There conflict is what brought forth the village system)

Kushina's hair (it's so red I count it as a character)

She got kidnapped > She's Naruto's mother > Minato wouldn't of found her had it not been for the strands of hair > She would of died > No birth of Naruto > No series

#5 isn't really a valid reason, cause then I could say "Minato's parents because without them there would be no Minato, hence no Naruto." and could even go further than that.

I reckon replace that with Hashirama or Madara.

Well I mean Naruto as a series in terms of stopping kyuubi. Creating the suspicion that it was an uchiha behind the attack, and making his son the Jinchuuriki

I like your list although i wold trade out minato for Hashirama+Madara as the last spot in my section if i were to make one.
Simply because there skirmish is what propels the plot and tone of the series.
