For example, ''Hiruzen was said to be most powerful Shinobi of all time'', a statement such as that would be regarded as hyperbole, since the bold word is an indication. In Hagoromo's case, there was no word regarding his creation of Ninjutsu to be a hyperbole. Jiraiya made it a historical statement. Madara, arguably the most acknowledged character, confirmed it a fact.

If you want feats, his Rinnegan gave him mastery over every Nature Transformation (Nagato is a case of this), his Nature Transformations are all imbued to his Gududama, and he possessed Madara's, Naruto's and Sasuke's abilities in his arsenal. He has feats for his hype.

What hype? Do you mean Hamura? That's powerscaling and deduction. Hagoromo gave Naruto and Sasuke half of his chakra and look how their chakra levels skyrocketed. Hamura's chakra comes from the same source (the Shinju aka Kaguya) so it's atleast on Hagoromo's level. The latter gets the edge due to the Juubi inside him, but Hamura is still a chakra beast thus his position in the ranking.

His feats are through characters used Rinnegan techniques, Obito and Madara using Juubi's power, and Naruto & Sasuke using the powers he gifted them. There is no such thing as hype for that.

The funny thing is that I completely agree with you.. I get it.. Hagoromo ' hype' is back up by the ones that are trying to reach his level..
