its disgusting how many people put sasuke on their list of "well written" characters..... I mean come on people.... he's the worst emo part about the naruto story and the most emotional unstable character with no backbone who every ability he has has been GIVEN TO HIM... NO SKILL = Not well written

2.Hanzo
3.Jiraya

easy top 3 well written characters in my opinion.

Kisame for one cause he stayed loyal to the end and died a ninja.(most deaths in naruto the villian turns good before dying).
Hanzo cause he was a legendary ninja that named the sanin's, also did a lot of behind the scenes ass kicking and died like a pimp.
Jiraya because he was a moral leader and prophesied the coming of the NV savior.

From a pure Literary perspective, Sasuke is head and shoulders above the rest. I'll put Sasori in the second because of the whole 'immortal image' metaphor, along with Nagato, albeit his book-soloing was shameful. Kabuto and Danzo take the third spot for me.
