This thread illustrates perfect examples of why hiphop is dead. I mean, 90% of y'all name "artists" that don't have a shred of subject matter in their songs......ever. I understand everyone has their own tastes. But, when you put Wiz on the same list as Em or Lupe or even Pac and Big, you're disgracing the art. Old school is where its at. Aside from Em, there has not been a great hiphop artist come out in 15 years. IMHO here is my list in no peticular order....

Actually I've been an account holder for a while. I never post though. Wasn't schmack the op that put wiz khalifa on his list? Not tryin to hate but I can't stand wiz. All I hear is that black and yellow song which is the worst song ever made. So why would I go to a thread based on that? Just shows that people don't listen to music and base their opinions on popularity. But I guess that's where this list ended up anyway. Its sad really. All the new artists want to be gangster rappers or club bangers. When I choose an artist to listen to, its based on lyrical content and originality. Not what's hot. Ill throw on some vanilla ice or MC hammer before Drake or wiz. Again, this is my opinion, and I'm guessin I'm a little older than most of the people here. Not that being older makes my opinion any more righteous than the next. But, I grew up in what some would call the golden age of hiphop. And to see it in the state its in now is discouraging as I look for new music to get in to. I don't wanna here about how much money they have. I wanna here about the struggles they went through.
