I'd put minato 1, orochimaru 2 and hiruzen three but other than those i think its a good list. Minato having more potential being my reason for him above Hiruzen and Orochimaru, considering Hiruzen was able to completely put his faith in him at such a young age.

Edit:didn't see itachi or think of him for some reason. Put him right behind Minato for me. I do agree Obito is tops, until Naruto/Sasuke surpass him.

i feel it was the best spot for him and kabuto lost all of his power. Also Orochimaru lost to itachi cause he was not trying to kill him and lost to sasuke because he was deathly sick

thats arguable cause the only reason he was chosen over orochimaru was do to the fact orochimaru had darker intentions it was not do to the fact minato was or could have been stronger

i did mention that but orochimaru is also vastly more intelligent than any other naruto character

Yeah, that definitely had a part in it. But I think he also knew how great he could be, Minato was thought to be the child of prophecy and was already more of a legend, even though he was much younger than Oro. But realistically I've got Minato, Itachi, and Orochimaru extremely close. Like 1a, 1b, and 1c. In a fight to the death I think its way too close to call for them really
