I am slightly starting to believe that Tobi may just be Obito. Only problem is it doesn't match up with the timeline. Tobi and Kakashi are close in age, Nagato and Konan are older than them, and Tobi claims to be the one who "gave" Nagato the rinnegan. Plus there is a slim chance he survived the accident he had.

But on the other hand Tobi was only using his right eye for a long period of time and Kakashi's sharingan is in his left side. Maybe that is just a coincidence though.

Didn't Tobi have 2 sharingans though until he used Izanagi? And the only other thing that doesn't make sense is why would Obito declare war? :shrug:

most of the audience thinks that he is some1 we already know
the most unexpectable thing kishi could do was making tobi an unknown character

Maybe Obito is Zetsu. That's why his body has two halves, one completely crushed and the other in tact. No sharingan because, again, his right side was completely crushed... Tobi could have found him and used him...

I don't think Tobi is Obito, Kishi wouldn't make it that obvious on who Tobi is.

I think he could be Kagami Uchiha as we don't really know what happened to him in the battle with the nine tails, he was no where to be seen so he could be Tobi but who knows only Kishi does.
