Why would Obito not try his best in a fight that's life and death?
Anything you can say to that would be pure speculation.
Sure he could have tried more techs but he didn't it would be pointless. His techs were never great. They are mediocre, but Kamui is the only thing he has going for him and when that's gone he's weak.

it wasn't just that 6 billion paper that almost got him, she gave him a good run for his money =D
it's not like she is weak or anything, but she's not even a top 10.

Who is to blame for this? Obito decided to square up against Kakashi who was always more skilled. He should have resorted to using his power, forget respect you're the villain

I agreed the fact that he never really displayed his full capabilities but your putting him on the same league as a fodder, you know who is a fodder? Those useless ninja that participate in the war, but putting Obito as a fodder is ignorant. He was holding his own against 4 of the strongest ninja and 2 had jins and one has kamui like himself. I infact give him a lot of credit.
Before this chapter, people kept saying that Obito was greater than Madara, Hashirama, Tobirama, Naruto, Sasuke, Minato, and everyone else in the ninja world. He just lost to Kakashi.
So, by that same logic, Kakashi is greater than Madara, Hashirama, Tobirama, Naruto, Sasuke and Minato, right?
I've said it all along and I will say it again... Obito has never been greater than those ninjas and never will be. People kept overpowering him just because he has Senju DNA, Rinnegan, Sharingan, etc. That didn't help him in the end. All Obito did was spam his Kamui. His Kamui is what gave him the edge. As we saw here, when he cannot use his Kamui, he is a little weaker than Kakashi.
And no, guys... Kakashi cannot beat Madara, Hashirama, Tobirama, Naruto, Sasuke, Minato, Tsunade, Orochimaru, etc!
Now you know where Obito stands on the scale. People need to stop putting him in the number one spot on every poll. If you think that Obito is stronger than all those other ninja, I guess Kakashi is as well by the same logic, considering he beat Obito and has Kamui.

Obito is one of the strongest Ninjas there is. Obito has accomplished a lot. So seriously don't go shouting off if you are just going to come out with immature silly remarks. Yes his Kamui is his greatest jutsu in his arsenal but he still has the Rinnegan & Mokuton.

Dude, shut up. If Obito is strong, explain the following things:
Why didn't he catch the tailed beasts on his own? Why would he need to use a team of Rank S Criminal to do his bidding? Madara could have captured all the tailed beast on his own.
Why didn't Obito kill Itachi? Probably because he can't! He didn't like Itachi, and waited until Itachi was dead before carrying out his plan for Sasuke.
Why didn't he take out Madara? He was talking big to Madara, but if Obito was so strong, he would have taken Madara out himself. Madara just showed him who is really in charge.
Stop crying because your fanboyism can't see that Obito is below Kakashi.

Being over-hyped is based on fan opinions. It doesn't mean the character is unbeatable, and doesn't mean that if in reality he doesn't meet those expectations that he is weak. If you look over his feets just in the war arc, there is no way you can consider him fodder.
Anyone calling Obito fodder at this point are just trolling Obito fanboys.
