There is no real reasonable explanation as to why he would do all of this, and the reason for that is because Tobi isn't Obito.

Ok....so we've all come to a consensus that Tobi isn't Obito....and thanks again for correcting me...that was a memorial. Since Kishi hasn't fully gone into explaination on that secured detail of what actually became of Obito Uchiha, we can only speculate and wait for the mask to be revealed. For a long time I've been thinking it's Madaras' brother Izuna, but like a lot of you have said, He's become a legend through word of mouth....even the word of mouth can stretch into lies of different feats. The simple fact that yes, Madara went toe to toe with a Senju, and since no one witnessed the fight to tell who won, but only know that Hishirama was still walking and he wasn't. Madara said that he had awakened the Rinnegan just before he was defeated....why didn't he use them?? So many questions to be answered to shut a lot of the know-it-alls up, not enough manga produced to prove it...

You are a genius. I dont remember that one line "Nagato must've grown.." or something. That proves that Madara was operating with another individual, and they both were aware that Rinnegan can ressurect the dead. He was shocked to find out it was IWR.

Its known that Izuna gave his eyes (either forcibly or voluntarily) to Madara to obtain EMS. Madara used Izuna's eyes and fought with Hashirama to obtain Senju DNA and activate the Rinnegan.

Madara and Izuna are twins, the one we see in the casket is Madara after his Rinnegan has been removed. Izuna placed those eyes in Nagato, and later battles with Konan to take them back.

Here we see a flashback where Madara is speaking with Muu and Oonoki about Hashirama. If Madara was alive then with Oonoki as a younger shinobi, and Madara and Izuna are twins, then it is possible that Izuna be alive as Oonoki is. Old, but alive. We see glances of Tobi's face-he's an old man.

TOBI=IZUNA. Case closed.

Very nicely put, i see someone else has analytical skills. Izuna is the last choice for many reasons. People are either just too stupid to realize it or they dont want to believe it.

We know Madara is Not Tobi because madara is an edo.

If tobi isn't madara then his hate, Ex: "What did my brother sacrifice his eyes for" gives him more than enough reason to be izuna. Izuna's face has been shown wrinkled and old. The !st dna increases lifespan because of senju blood. Its right in your face its about to bite ya. Izuna is 1st dna+zetsu=Tobi(Izuna). How else could madara complete the moon eye plan and have 100% faith in it. He handed the task to the younger brother(Izuna). If izuna was willing to give Madara his eyes then he was willing to carry out the plan.
