To be honest, its a relief to hear an alternate theory to izuna/obito/sharingan ancestor theories, even though it seems a long shot. It is not entirely impossible.

His point is since many characters who are male have feminine characteristics, couldnt a female character have male characteristics.

A botched edo-summoning of Madara Uchiha.

Tobirama tried summoning Madara after Hashirama "beat him" but because Madara wasn't actually dead, BUT had obtained a different kind of DNA, it almost worked, but ultimately botched. And created an almost duplicate of Madara.

Tobirama proceeded to call him Tobi, after himself of course.

Madara found out about this Tobi, and they consequently made nasty and evil plans. But Madara died And Tobi had to go ahead alone.
