Actually you are wrong. Itachi doesnt need to know who the person is in order for his amaterasu to work. He just needs to see their sharigan.

What he did with sasuke and tobi is identical to how kotoamatsukami would activate at the site of itachi's sharigan.

tobi could be obito..obito did give his one eye to kakashi and nothing is shown of his another eye....plus nothing is shown of him ever being found (dead/alive).....plus there would be no need to show kakashi's childhood if it weren't somehow connected to the present...he could have used the mask not only to conceal his identity but also because his half body is disfigured by the incident.....we also dont see him fighting that much do we?? he's mostly evading the attacks.......gifted sharingan no doubt.....hell, even their names seem similar.....:xd
or it could be shisui.....he also lost one eye and disappeared.....death by drowning??? come on!!! :flaw:

dont know the manga chapter number but he calls him mizukage first because he see's mizukage first and then he sees the man controlling him "MADARA" as it says...xd

maybe thats what tobi wanted him to see,to cause more confusion about his identity

My theory is that Itachi doesn't know who Tobi is because he was calling Tobi "Madara" (he probably told Itachi that is who he was, then showed him his Sharingan for confirmation just like he did with Sasuke) and we have now found out that Tobi isnt Madara. Any holes there?

I agree with all of your points except the last one about the "Zetsu Eye." I don't think Zetsu's can copy the abilities of people, only their chakra and physical features. That means the Zetsu eye would not be able to use Izanagi.

What I think is that Tobi got the left Sharingan from the Uchiha massacre. This implies Tobi only had one eye before the massacre:

i really really really really really doubt its obito...there are similarities yes like his eye missing or whatever but fact is...obito was 13 when he died..he is kakashi's age so the guy we have seen a couple of times behind the mask is obviously older, at least Danzou's age if not older. Obito was like Naruto, so ya only if he was brainwashed somehow and fast forwarded like 30 years it cannot be Obito.
Shisui is sketchy too but the fact he died drowning and he was supposedly as powerful as he was is very very fishy...i mean seems like a shitty way to go when your that good..im not so sure he didnt use some kind of jutsu to fake his death...then again how would itachi and danzou get his eye if he was alive?
Madara-clone shell thing or Izuna make the most sense right now...mainly because the kyuubi associates tobi with madara...and during the attack after naruto birth, kyuubi didnt look too happy and tobi controlled him very easily..im wondering if not tobi didnt take some of Madara's dna and put it in him..could that work? then he (like madara did to gain hashirama's dna) would be able to control the kyuubi and stuff but not actually be madara. If they are the same person then why is it they have two different move sets, and why would Madara need a second one of him running around? Im jsut ready to know and stop all these speculations...

Kagami fits well as Tobi because of his hairstyle, uncertainty about his death, and he worked among 2nd and 3rd hokage which was good source of information about village. We don't know when Madara died which makes it more complicated.

Why would he need to know who's Sharingan it is? He knows who Tobi is, doesn't mean he knows he is behind the mask. Unless I am missing something

This. He wouldn't need to know for certain who Tobi was, he would simply need to know that Tobi had a sharingan and set something up to counter it. It does not mean that he knew for certain who Tobi was.

And its been well established that Itachi thought Tobi was Madara..... just like everyone else.

so im wondering why the fox related madara's chakra to tobi

was it really tobi behind the mask while fighting minato??

I'm almost positive Tobi is obito and on other forums I have posted countless topics about it. I think obito survived that day after being crushed and went on to become decoy Madara. Honestly, it makes sense if you think about it and I was so happy when I heard Tobi wasn't Madara because I've had this hunch since the pain vs jiraiya arc lol

i dont think that tobi is an Uchiha cuz his sharingan is always activated.
