Kabuto is helping Tobi and even gave his Jinchuuriki edos to Madara, so he's Tobi's assistant.

if you look at it like that, but i dont not think he would refer to himself as tobis assistant.. hes using tobi as much as tobi is using him.. i think there is another player involved in this shit, working with kabuto..

If you read the manga that was released today you discovered for certain that the man who claimed to be "Tobi" isn't in fact Madara. With that being said I believe that the man behind the mask is Izuna Uchiha, Madara's little brother. I say this, because in today's manga chapter Madara made a direct reference to "Tobi" in such a form as if he knew him personally. For example Madara was thinking to himself that reviving him was something he would do. I would say he made about three references in this manor. Izuna Uchiha would also be a good guess, because he had the mangekyou sharingan before he contributed his eyes to Madara, which would explain how he's able to control a sharingan. (And if I may add, I think Izuna may have gotten that new sharingan from finding Obito's body. Obito gave his left eye to Kakashi ... if you haven't noticed ... "Tobi" or Izuna has his sharingan in his right eye. Sure Obito's right side got crushed, but that doesn't entirely mean that his right eye was destroyed does it? I don't think so) Oh and to explain him being able to maintain both a sharingan and a rinnegan? Well he's an Uchiha and plus he found some way to stay alive for so long, so why couldn't he control a rinnegan? Also we learned today that a sharingan user could eventually unlock and begin to utilize the rinnegan as Madara has done.

ok first , Team Tobirama, which consisted of Hiruzen Sarutobi, Homura Mitokado, and Koharu Utatane
Danzō Shimura, Kagami Uchiha and Torifu Akimichi..

and according to Minato, Tobirama was also very skilled in Space–Time Ninjutsu.
so its posibly, he learned it from the 2nd Hokage..

Kagami just lived before the 1st shinobi world war, soo like Hiruzen (3rd Hokage) he can still be a live..
he didnt use some special jutsu like Orochimaru did he was just old like hiruzen and he doesnt have enough chakra cause,.. u know he was old.

i agree with you the timeline does not add up. once we find out more about black and white zetsu then we will figure out who tobi is. my guess is he is "madara" but a zetsu clone style. but who knows well find out soon

THIS^ . people suspect any uchiha these days. their are loads of side characters within the manga, and almost 100% of them have no more of a purpose ...than being side characters. no cliché ; "oh we dont know much about him and we also havent seen him around, HE MUST BE THE BAD GUY" , we all know kishimoto doesnt operate like this, hes a more twisted and surprising thinker. and were not watching a typical kids cartoon either.
