Chapter 500 has some vital information for review, when you keep in mind the question: How did Tobi know that Kushina was giving birth?

On Page 10, we are told that only Biwako, Taji, and Minato will be inside with Kushina. Koharu and Homura said that the event must be top secret. Presumably, this can mean they didn't tell anyone else. We know those two, Biwako, Taji, and Minato aren't Tobi. We're also told that there will be the Third's personal ANBU stationed outside.

On Page 11, Kushina, after being scolded by Koharu, presumably didn't tell anyone of her mission. Koharu also advised her to not scream her head off, presumably because she did not even want to tip off the ANBU outside.

On Page 12, Kushina can clearly be heard giving birth from outside the fortification. There are 4 ANBU right outside the cave and one a little ways off.

On Page 14, three ANBU right outside the entrance can be seen dead at Tobi's feet.

Where was the corpse of the fourth ANBU?

I think he donned a cloak and a different mask so that he would not be recognized when he came up against Minato, Kushina, etc. and then barged on in with his sharingan. He heard the screams, surmised what was happening, and put his plan into action.

That was Hiruzen's wife Biwako. Not Koharu

There were 5 possibly more.

You might want to reread my post. I conceded that there were five visible, but only four outside the entrance. One was stationed a little ways off. However, that body would have been presumably left where he was ambushed, a little ways off from the entrance. So, that still leaves one missing ANBU.

The missing ANBU could easily have been Tobi, or maybe a Zetsu clone, as someone mentioned earlier, with Tobi warping into the scene as soon as Zetsu instantaneously reported back.

I don't think it's possible...Danzo had full control over ANBU, so he knew everyone there...
Danzo wouldn't have called Tobi "Madara", if he knew who this ANBU-guy was.

maybe their were two tobis?

it sounds farfetched, but maybe madara and izuna played as tobi :shrug: i remember madara showed his face to kisame, right after kisame killed one of the seven swordsman, and he had long hair. then i saw a picture that showed tobi with long hair, and madara is the only one i know of that has hair like that. but madara is edo now, so i am assuming since tobi and madara know of the moon eye plan, then it could only be izuna imo :shrug:


what do you all think? LOL it may sound a little farfetched but it sounds logical. lol someone whip out manga moments if needed.​

From what we have seen it does seem that there are two Tobi's or were at one point..Tobi is one helluva fibber though so it is hard to really make sense of it until more is revealed..

"Tobi" did have long hair once, with a totally different mask. But then the Akatsuki "Tobi" has short hair. Sure, it doesn't mean anything, but still could be taken into consideration.

Well tobi had long hear and he said he was madara when he met kisame. I still think tobi is izuna.
