Well.. Umm..
Toads are amphibians and often if not always have a dry, leather-like skin. Their legs are short but powerful which allows them to jump pretty far and high. On their skin, toads have bumps, which helps them blend into its environment more, as the ground and rocks and whatever else they live by are bumpy and not smooth. Toads are known to carry diseases as many people assume the wart-like parotoid glands the animals possess are due to infection, which is proven wrong as healthy specimens possess them as well.
Now, in the Naruto-verse toads are considered frogs and visa versa, but there is a distinctive difference. Toads live mostly on land, where frogs live most of their lives in water. Frogs also have a more smooth skin than toads have and their skin is not as dry.
Anyhow, to keep it within the Naruto-verse now, Toads or Gama are the summoning creatures from Mount Myōboku. They are one of the main summonings, besides snakes. Well known summoners of toads are Naruto, Jiraiya and Minato. They have been summoned in different conditions, for example for training, fighting and sage mode. There are various toads, varying in size, 'rank' and ability. Some toads possess the ability to spit water or oil from their mouths, others fight with swords and other weapons, there are even some that can use handseals and use senjutsu. The latter one are probably the strongest toads. Size matters, even for toads, but not in terms of rank. There are very giant toads, for example Gamabunta and Gamahiro, but there are very small ones as well, like Gamatatsu, even though he has grown throughout the series. Even though Gamabunta is definitely bigger, higher in rank are the toad elders, which seem to be almost the boss of all toads. They are known for the toad sage mode, helping both naruto and jiraiya with their sage mode.
All in all, toads are a very varying species and seem therefore to be one of the most interesting and useful canon summonings around.
Really, you're putting me through all this? D:
I summon enough, you know!
Erm.. anyway;
(Kuchiyose no Jutsu) - Summoning Technique
Rank: C
Type: Defense/Attack/Suplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Hand Seals: Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, Ram, Palm On Ground
Description:To summon the creature the ninja will wipe blood on the hand, perform the necessary handseals and then touch their hand to the ground or another object. Though it appears that as long as significant pressure is placed against the blood in some form, the summon will be complete. There can be variations to the summoning steps, some ninja like Temari will wipe blood on her fan, then by swinging the fan the animal is summoned. Other ninja like Orochimaru wipe the blood across a snake tattoo on their arm first, then touch the ground.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu or summoning technique can be performed after signing a contract. To perform the jutsu, one must wipe their bloond onto their hand and perform five handseals (Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, Ram), whereafter one slams their palm onto the ground. Some summonings require special tattoos or scrolls, but let's just stick to the common one.
Basically this justsu realises the transport of an animal or thing bound to a contract that is signed by the user over long distance to the place where the blood with which the contract is signed is used to summon the said animal or thing.
The amount of chakra used to summon an animal for example can determine the summoned animal's power, and what kind of summoning it is, shown throughout the series, especially in Naruto's summoning training where he learnt to summon toads. He first only was able to summon small toads, but eventually by using the right amount of chakra he was able to summon toads at the size of Gamabunta.

Now let's start with the summoning techniques. I will summon the toads one by one and you will then tell me how you would use them.
(Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Gamariki) Summoning Technique: Gamariki
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description:
Gamariki is one of the most unique toad summons from mount Myobokuzan. Although with a very feminine appearance and behavior, he's actually a male (this contrast has lead to many comedic scenes between him and naruto). Slightly bigger than a human, he is a capable toad warrior, with the ability to use Water techniques up to A-Rank, Genjutsu up to B-Rank as well as like most toads, he can use Oil techniques.
Note: can only be summoned once
Gamakiri is a toad somewhat the size of a human, he is able to use A-rank water, B-rank genjutsu and Oil techniques like all toads. He can perform free form taijutsu as well. In what situations would you summon him and why?
I would probably summon him when I'm fighting a fire user or someone who is prone to use fire. Being able to use water is obviously a big advantage over a fire user. Also in close range he would be useful due to the ability to use taijutsu.
The genjutsu and the oil are useful in those two situations as well, as in many others.
Aside from those two situations, it might just be useful to summon him during a battle because of the large amount of abilities he possesses.
(Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Gamatatsu) Summoning Technique: Gamatatsu
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description:
Gamatatsu is the younger son of Gamabunta and Gamakichi's younger brother. Contrasting with his brother and father, he has a somewhat aloof and awkward personality, general distracted from battle and his surroundings. Despite this, along with his brother, he has been training to become a Toad Warrior. Standing more or less with the same height as his brother (similar to a human), he can fight in hand to hand combat, albeit with a lower skill than his brother, but can also use Water techniques up to A-Rank. Similar to most toads, he can use Oil techniques.
Note: requires signing of the Toad Contract.
Note: can only be summoned once
Same drill with this fellow. Why and when would you summon him? What are his advantages?
