He would of been defeated if not for Amaterasu, even though the Toads Stomach is seen to be fire resistant.

Well, both still had higher lvl techs, like susanoo, and kisame could just fill it with water, making "swallowing" impossible, but that could kill itachi from water pressure lol.

But yeah it's a good tech against fodders, but all high lvl ninja has jutsu to escape it.
