Team for Mewtwo:
Blastsoise any moves (includes crunch)
Gengar hupnosis and dream eater
Hypno hypnosis also and other moves
Lapras for tanking hits
The rest don't matter. If you can get a high enough pokemon that knows false swipes that will also be useful

Ok guys, I'm thinking:

Kingdra - he's fast and can get Smokescreen.
Parasect - Spore
Tyranitar - Wall/Tank
Marowak - False Swipe
HM Slave with Rock Smash.
Anything else just for safe measures.

dam......that level 55 evolution will take for ever......unless u train in pokemon league or mewtwo cave....but i would say sneasel....snorlax...chancy....dragonite....electrode....you know good walls and hitters...one psychic to parasect will kill it cuz of its poison type

Whatever you do, don't use that masterball on Mewtwo. Def use it on Raiku.

For Mewtwo, obviously just save before fighting him and keep going at it. It might take you restarting the game a few times, but eventually you'll get lucky and catch him. It's a matter of patience.

Raikou is weak as ****, so don't even bother, use Latios instead. Mewtwo on the other hand is a different story, it's mega evo has better stats than an Arceus so what you have to do is have a pokemon that knows spore, will o' wisp, t-wave, x99 Pokeballs, a pokemon that will outspeed it once all requirements are met do this:

>battle it

>dark move preferrably crunch or dark pulse to the face, make sure it doesn't get OHKD

>swith to a pokemon that knows spore etc.

>spore

>throw a pokeball

>easy

For Leaf Green, I believe Timer Balls have already been implemented...I remember Saphhire (it being my favorite game) already having Timer Balls. Now, if you think you can't create a team that properly tank Mewtwo and that you have the patience to sit through an hour or so of catching it, then yes, use the Master Ball on the Mewtwo. But since Mewtwo isn't going anywhere and Raikou will always escape, it may save you time to actually catch Raikou with the Master Ball.

On the other hand, if you get a Pokemon that prevents escape such as Crobat with Mean Look or Dugtrio with Arena Trap, it could also prevent Raikou from escaping as long as you have that Pokemon as first in your party.

Quick question: Do you care about natures or not?

I don't really care for natures on Mewtwo or Raikou since catching them is hard as ****. I care for natures on anything else though. I think Roar would still make it flee though so I'll just use a Master Ball on it.

No access to Latios (Leaf Green & Fire Red only). Dark pulse isn't in gen 3. But thanks anyway.

Have someone with spore in the team, Parasect is probably the only option. Light screen could come handy as well to keep you alive.

Thanks for the Light Screen idea. I'll definitely keep that in mind.

Well, a Modest or Timid natured Mewtwo can be really OP in your team. Also, if you EV train...
But yeah, put a Pokemon with Synchronization in the front of your party and the Pokemon you catch in the wild has a 50% chance of being the nature that Pokemon is.

For example, if I put a Mew with Modest and Synchronization in front of my party as first encounter, 50% chance Mewtwo would have it too.

Yeah, Raikou's a tough one. I'm quite sure there are strategies though, it's been quite some time since I picked up such an old version of Pokemon, however.

I agree. But I'm not worried about competitive battling (at least not on my Leaf Green) since these games don't work with Wifi so I can only battle my sister and my friend :p. I can't catch Mew because I don't have an Action Replay.

Oh I have played it and it's bloody heart breaking. I'm pretty sure catching Chansey in the Safari Zone is up there too though. And, btw, it's just Mespirit that moves (unless I'm wrong).

My bad, I messed it up, just Mesprit moves. Anyway, I recommend you use VBA to play your games instead of NO$GBA. Because of the color and save states. And Raikou is exactly like Mesprit XD I would use the ultra ball on Raikou because it will make sure he is caught, instead of having to see him escape and chase him again, or use mean look and capture him in an ultra ball.

You never needed an action replay. There was an event. If you missed it out, you will need to cheat. BTW I heard you can catch Lugia in that game too... As for Pokemon Red/Blue, It was soooo freaking easy to catch ANY Pokemon you wanted. Using the Ditto glitch of course. Even Mew could be caught without the event. About the Safari Zone thing. I encountered a Chansey on my emulator and I save stated x100 and then it ran away 10 times and I caught it finally  There is no Blissey in Fire Red or Leaf Green so I don't use it, I never would have used it anyway.
