I've been writing a lot of poems lately, all of them turn out dark and violent. What's a good inspiration to write something more clean, and less dark?

Edit: I actually wrote one that was happy for my best friend last night, he was having a bad day and felt down. But I don't always have that inspiration, I need one that lasts!

I write about a girl that I loved dearly, but she changed drastically. I don't want another woman in my life right now! And honestly, maybe not ever again.

Ha I don't want to seem crazy? One of them has ended with me cutting her throat. I'm not crazy like that in real life, writing it out just really helps my emotions.

I suggest maybe your favorite song, listen to it as you're writing and allow those feelings you get from listening to it to flow through your words. There's nothing wrong with dark poetry, I mean look at Edgar Allen Poe. However only you can write about what you're truly feeling. As a writer I know what works as inspiration for one, may not work for another. So just keep finding the small things that make you happy and when you feel like that, just put those feelings to words. It's easy, Just like that poem you wrote for your friend , keep that as an inspiration . think of your happy moments like with friends , family , games ,movies , anything will give you something to write, just gotta put your mind into it .
