Timeline Inconsistency: So Boruto is still about 8 now?

In today's episode, Konohamaru said that it has been 10 years since the war. Iwabe said the same thing in episode 2. Now, I had assumed that a decent amount of time had gradually progressed from the academy days to now. I guess not though. This has a number of implications though:

1. The kids in Boruto's age group were stated to be around 12 in the Boruto movie, which is supposed to be the point in time that is coming up soon. However, if the war was 10 years ago, then that means that Boruto is 8 at max! That is because Naruto and Hinata didn't even get together until 2 years after the war. Unless you want to tell me that the chunin exams is actually 4 years from now in their time, then that is an inconsistency. Of course we could extend the max to Boruto being 10 years old currently in the anime (which would take him closer to the 12 years old of the movie), but that would mean that he was conceived during the year of the war! That would mean that apparently, Naruto and Hinata slept with each other at least once shortly after the war (getting Hinata pregnant), and then Hinata stayed pregnant for over 2 years, and that after ***, they both apparently forgot about it and didn't get back together for at least 2 years! In other words, the 10 years old idea is pretty much impossible.

2. On a more more minor note, this means that Naruto is 27 now in the anime since he turned 17 during the war.

3. The academy lasts for less than a year (at least in Boruto's generation)! Talk about a way to train up child soldiers. Give them a few good months of training or so, and then it's off to fight experienced rouge ninja!

However, though it won't be noted, we should technically be in for a 6 year time skip after the chunin exams arc since Ao in the manga stated that it has been 16 years since his last real combat (which presumably refers to the war).

In other words, at this point in the manga, Boruto and co. should be 14 (if they are 8 now and in the chunin exams).

This also means that future Boruto should surface 2 years from now (in NV time, not real world time), since Boruto was confirmed to be 16 during his fight with Kawaki.

In the end though, all of this logic probably bears no weight. It is probably just inconsistency and nothing more.

Still thought I'd point it out though.

It’s probably more the anime team just dropped the ball, boruto would be even younger, as in the last naruto is 19 I believe, which already makes it 2 years after the war, and boruto had yet to be even conceived

Foddermaru and Iwabe don't know what they're talking about

Did they really mention the war ending ten years ago this episode. I coulda sworn they said it was fifteen years back in the Kage meeting episode. I think that space of time is the one that makes the most sense.

Fillers tend to mess up time lines.

Time line's in Naruto never made a shred of sense, and Boruto won't fix that.

Yeah, which you didnt answer

Ah, well like I said: It is probably just inconsistency with the timeline stuff rather than the characters actually being 8 (ie. If you asked Boruto right now how old he was, he'd probably say 12 rather than 8. It's only the real world logic that I presented in the OP that reveals the inconsistency.).

Even if he is still 8 though and only went through a few months of the academy, this doesn't actually reflect that specifically Boruto's power is illogical. Rather, this reflects that the whole new generation got an illogical boost in power.

People like to chastise Boruto for having all the stuff that he does, but people sleep on the fact that several of the new generation are basically like Boruto.

Examples:

Iwabe already has decent level doton.

Sarada already has katon, raiton and genjutsu, and potentially more with the sharingan copy ability.

Mitsuki has SM, fuuton, raiton, summoning, stretching, etc...

Sumire already has decent level water style and a decent summon.

Heck, didn't the data book even give Chouchou one or two elements?

Do you see what I mean?

The only ones in this group who aren't basically prodigies in their own right are Denki, Wasabi and Namida.

So then at the very least, Boruto's power is perfectly logical at least in the context of his own generation/universe. If anything is said to be illogical, it would be the level of Boruto's whole generation, not just Boruto.

Like I said though, this is just assuming that they actually are 8 year olds that spent only a few months in the academy. In actuality it is probably just inconsistency, and they are probably actually 12 (or however old they were in the Boruto movie).

I actually meant the reply on the other thread that we had discussion about this , not here. Im not sure about the age but from earlier post's he should be 12 now and there is no way he could be 8 since he is chunnin by now right?

@bold - its not about What Boruto does, i actually dont even hate him that much its just manga and anime makes me hate him. Its all about him, every episode its about Boruto's progressing , every little action its Boruto's doing... yeah, so we gonna keep this until the of the manga?

Well we can say it was a mistake of studio pierrot since in the manga it has passed 16 years and it is just after the movie. Naruto is 33 years.
