Chapter One: The Invader
Naruto was enjoying himself in Ichiraku Ramen when Yamato and Sakura walked in.
Naruto:Hey guys!Are you gonna join me in a bowl of ramen?
Yamato: No. We have a mission.
Sakura: It's about Kakashi-Sensei. Apparantly someone desimated a small town on the Land of Fire's border. One survivor said it was done by a man wearing strange armor. He was searching for Kakashi. When he couldn't find, he destroyed the town with a series of explosives.
Yamato: We were summoned by Lady Tsunade. She will give us more info at her mansion.
Naruto:Wait, you said one of the survivors. Where are the others?
Yamato: In the hospital. They have all been injured. There are four in total. Sakura healed the ones with minor injuries. They are resting. The other one's leg and arm were broken. But the last one is in critical condition. His leg was torn off and the rest of his limbs were broken. He also has a chest wound, but that has been taken care of.
Naruto: Fine. Let's go!
At the Hokage's mansion, Lady Tsunade told them the details.
Tsunade: The survivor said that the man kept asking for Kakashi Hatake. When everyone told them he wasn't in town, he got furious and attacked. He pulled small explosives from his armor and after gripping them for a second or two, he threw them at the houses and shops. He also physically assaulted the towngoers with amazing strength. This "invader" is a menace who must be dealt with. I want you, along with Sai and Shikamaru to capture him.
Destroy his limbs if possible. Be warned, he is not going to be easy to take down. That is why I am making this a Five-man cell, although the mission will go even more smoothly if two of you act as back-up. Am I clear?
All: Understood!
Naruto: Don't worry, Grandma! We'll have this jerk bastard beaten down and back here in no time flat!
The three ninja left the Hokage's room and ran into Sai on the street.
Sai: Hello. Is something wrong?
Yamato told Sai the details.
Sai: I see. I think I saw Shikamaru and that fat friend of his on the bridge.
Naruto: You had better not call Choji-
Voice: Call me what?
Naruto turned around.Choji and Shikamaru was looking at them.
Sakura: Nothing! Sai was just being dumb! (Through gritted teeth): Weren't you, Sai?!
Sai: S-sure. I was just "being dumb".
Yamato: Shikamaru, we need you're help in a Search and Retrieve Mission.
Shikamaru: Sure.
Yamato told Shikamaru the details.
Shikamaru: Understood, but it sounds like a lot of work. Maybe we should just wait for that guy to come to the village. If he's looking for Kakashi, he is bound to end up here.
Yamato: We have a mission.
Shikamaru (sighs): Fine.
A few hours later, they were at the ruined town.
Naruto: Who could do such a thing?
Sai: There are a lot of shinobi out there who would do such a thing, like the Akatsuki.
Sakura: According to the description of the attacker, the Akatsuki aren't behind this.
There was a loud noise.
Naruto: What was that?
Over near a pile of rubble, a tall man, wearing blue armor on his arm, legs, back and around his waist was inspecting a pile of rubble. He wore a red shirt that was opened near the chest.
Man: He was definitely here. That bastard!
Naruto leapt over a pile of rubble.
Naruto(yelling): Hey you!
Naruto landed near him and pulled out a kunai.
Man: Who are you?
Naruto: Shut up you murderer!
Naruto swung the kunai at the man. He jumped back. Naruto swung a punch at him. The man ducked then punched Naruto to the ground. Sakura and Yamato leapt from behind a ruined house.
Yamato: Sakura, get Naruto out of the way, then leave it to me and Shikamaru.
Sakura: Cha!!!
Sakura dropped down between the man and Naruto and punched the ground. The impact blew back Naruto and the man. The man landed on his feet. Naruto landed on his knees.
Man: That monster strength. You must be Sakura Haruno.
Sakura: How do you know who I am?
Yamato: Now, Shikamaru!
A shadow burst from the ground and fused with the man's.
Shikamaru stepped out from behind a rock, forcing the man to come closer to the ninja.
Man(thinking): Damn! This must be that Shadow Possession Technique.
Shikamaru: Got him. Take him out, Captain!
Yamato: Right!
Yamato clasped his hands.
Yamato: Wood Style! Wooden Straightjacket!
Four columns of wood burst from the ground and curved around the man. Shikamaru released his jutsu right before the Wooden Straightjacket trapped the man.
Sakura: Got 'Im!
Yamato: Mission accomplished.
Shikamaru(thinking):Something
is wrong. From the way he was described this guy shouldn't have been captured this easily.
(Out loud): I hate to be the wet blanket but something's wrong!
Suddenly, the wood cracked then exploded with a blast of purple lightning.
Man(quietly):Thor!
He rushed forward with a wave of the purple lightning around his fist. He sung at Yamato. Yamato ducked and the man's armored fist crashed through a boulder.
Yamato: Sai!
A bird made of ink flew from behind a boulder and hit the man in the chest. It explode in a burst of ink. Sai peered from behind the boulder.
Sai(thinking):Looks like Yamato's first plan failed. Now it's time for Shikamaru's plan, which means I'm up.
Sai looked down at his scroll which laid open on the floor. There were a series of animals drawn on the scroll. He made a quick hand sign. The horde of animals burst from the scroll and rushed towards the man. He squinted and his fist surged with lightning.
Man: Thor!
He ran towards the animals and punched them all, causing them to burst into ink.
Sai(thinking): Now!
Sai jumped from behind the boulder and dropped towards the man with a knife in his hand. The man blocked with his arms.
Naruto created a Shadow Clone.
Naruto: Shikamaru, now!
Shikamaru took three kunai that had paper bombs attached to them out of his pouch. He threw them at the man. Sai jumped away from the man. The man blocked the kunai, which got lodged in his armor.
Man: No!
The bombs exploded. The smoke cleared, revealing the man unphased.
Man: Ha! Even I thought that that attack would damage my armor.
Naruto(jumping from behind the pile of rubble the man was inspecting): Rasengan!
He shoved the Rasengan towards the man, who blocked again. The man roared, then more lightning surged from his armor. He blew back Naruto.
Naruto: What?
Man: You are strong. That move and the clone. You must be Naruto Uzumaki.
Naruto: Huh? How do you know who I am?
Man: Enough! I don't have time for this! I must find a certain man.
The man removed a small digit from his armor, revealing a small hole. Purple smoke shot from the hole and surrounded the man.
Naruto: He's gonna get away!
Shikamaru: Not on my watch!
Shaikamaru made a quick hand sign and his shadow stretched into the smoke.
Shikamaru: Now!
His shadow exploded in a barrage of black spikes.
Yamato: Did you get him?
The spikes faded and Shikamaru's shadow went back to normal.
Shikamaru: No. He got away.
Naruto: Damn!
Sai: We should go report this to Lady Hokage.
Yamato: Let's go.
An hour later, the ninja were in the Hokage's room.
Tsunade: The mission failed, eh?
Yamato: Regrettably, yes. He was very skilled. He was able to repel one of Naruto's Rasengan and he was able to break out of my Wooden Straightjacket.
Shikamaru: But he was unable to avoid my Shadow Possession, and he knew who Sakura and Naruto were based on their attack. Something just aint right with this guy.
Sai: He also seems to rely on his armor.
Shikamaru: That's right. When I threw my paper bomb kunai at him, he said he was worried it would damage his armor.
Yamato: All we know is he's strong, relies on his armor and uses raiton.
Suddenly, there was an explosion in the village. A series of pods burst through the window and blew up the Hokage's mansion.
