I just had a realization when I reread the new chapter. The TBB reaching the other shore may have been symbolic or something! You see :

After this, Madara says "I believe you realized how much I changed" and then comes the flashback:

Madara had been trying to get his stone to the other side but Hashi comes along and makes it look so easy, and now they are "rivals".

So Madara went from being unable to get a stone across a pond to aiming TBBs at Hashi and getting them on the other side of the shore. The rivals had come a long way from when they first met.

I just thought that was cool

And the next 80 years or so, Madara kept himself alive on Gedo just so he could one day beat Hashirama at throwing rocks. He even took some of his dna to attain some badass senju rock throwing techniques. Now, Edo Hashirama is about to go to the battlefield, and the final rock throwing match will begin...

For those who are pointing out how obvious it is to you, sometimes some of us miss things. Not all of us are thorough on the first read and when we get excited for a new chapter, it takes time to catch everything. Reading it again usually helps the reader clarify things and then they see something that slipped by them before. It's happened to me many times.

I also noticed that after I read the chapter it was pretty cool now that poses some questions tough I was under the impression from Tobi that these were rival clans and that there were no villages at that time but seeing them as kids and they just bump Into each other like that makes me feel uneasy.

According to obito there were no villages only clans and the two strongest were uchiha and senju but why do I sense a village like environment when they meet? I thought these clans were always battling each other... Now I'm just rambling lmao

I think the thing that Madara overlooked was the fact that he got it to the other side with Hashirama's help (Hashirama changed the trajectory). A whole together-we-are-complete thing.
