I just had a realization when I reread the new chapter. The TBB reaching the other shore may have been symbolic or something! You see :
After this, Madara says "I believe you realized how much I changed" and then comes the flashback:
Madara had been trying to get his stone to the other side but Hashi comes along and makes it look so easy, and now they are "rivals".
So Madara went from being unable to get a stone across a pond to aiming TBBs at Hashi and getting them on the other side of the shore. The rivals had come a long way from when they first met.
I just thought that was cool
