I have heard alot of hype for the series so decided to read the chapters that are out so far. So for those who haven't read it yet I recommend it it's a good series. Without giving too much its one of those stories that really highlight mind games with a sinister backdrop if youre into that this is your story. Everything after this is spoiler territory.
I really like the story so far with character dynamic I like, even though it's one of those strategy mind games type of stories that is predictable while remaining enjoyable. I feel like it's kind of going to be like the walking dead where you inevitably watch each character die and instead of completely focusing on pulling on your heart strings it has that fun horror movie aspect that you try to guess what awaits character behind every corner.
There's also that horror movie aspect where there building Emma as the final girl and wonder will see get her happy ending. I don't think the story is completely grim hopeless characters just being lambs to the slaughter instead I think a possible message is the importance of keeping hope even in the worst and unlikely of circumstance. Which if they do go that route I would appreciate and make for a horror series that actually stimulates both the heart and brain. Also interesting the prized treasure the demons are after is the brain, but that thing they just look as food might be their undoing which highlights that in our greed we give our enemies the ability to beat us.
