Blow him more.
I place a very high value on logic.
I don't agree with him on everything though. But you've already tried and failed on this point anyway. I wouldn't try again

There's plenty of good economists out there, but you only preach about one that supports your world view. I wonder why.I place a very high value on logic.

Uhg. You always say shit like this and it's sad. Never seen someone so consistently lose in a debate and claim they won.
You must be registered for see links
The debate in question... I lost this though? Yeah ok
And you didn't fare well. This is the same topic and I supposed to expect a different result?I only responded to you twice in that thread. Plus the fact that you said the US would bounce back from such a dramatic change in 3-6 months(I think you said) is just ridiculous. I don't think you believe half the shit you type, but you very well might.
I dislike socialism to a certain degree, but its important to make the distinction between Marxist-Leninist Socialism and social programs in the context of Capitalist societies, which is referred to as social democracies. A much more broad term would be a mixed economy, and it depends on the country whether it leans toward market or command. Social democracies have been proven to proficient, with Scandinavia being the prime example, and Canada and Australia having powerful economies.Sowell, Friedman, Buckley, Williams.
I gravitate towards capitalism and away from socialism because
1. They presented a better case
2. Socalism fails

How am I( not an economist) supposed to accurately predict the rate of deflation and bounce back?
If people didn't find employment in the allotted window, they would be given more time provided they showed proof of job search.
When my father got laid off for a few months in 2009, to qualify for unemployment he had to show he was applying two places every week. Why should welfare be any different?

So yeah, I would agree pure socialism sucks in the same way pure capitalism sucks, but its difficult to find a country that doesn't have a mixed economy.
Smells like socialism.
Anyway, I don't expect you to accurately predict the rate of deflation(If any at all) or the bounce back. Why? Because you hold no validity. You have no proof to your claims. That's why I don't take you seriously. So you may say I lost, and if you truly believe that who am I to stop you?
"I can't actually refute your claims, so i'm just not gonna make myself look stupid"
Thats the gist
What claims did you honestly make though? You admitted that you essentially made up the time frame of deflation and bounce back so what can I refute? You admitted that your claims hold no weight to them, so you want me to refute your empty claims? Can do if you want I suppose...

And you base the debunking of my argument on the fact thst I can't pinpoint the rate of deflation? Thats dumb.
Raising wages increases inflation by raising prices to compensate (and firing employees). Reducing wages would do the inverse.
@Bold I don't know what 'hatmrm' means.
Yes, your argument holds zero weight as you admitted.
On my phone
Lets talk about the argument you made. You said that greedy business men would use the lack of a minimum wage totake advantage of workers. I asked why only 4% of workers make minimum wage now if thats the case. You said nothing.
What up with that?
What do you mean? They can't take advantage of the 4%? :lol. I'm for not taking advantage of anyone, but that's just me.
You asserted that if we did away with the minimum wage that greedy business men would take advantage of their employees by paying them nothing and making a huge profit. I said that currently only 4% of workers actually make the minimum. The other 96% make more. Now if we need to " be protected from the lunacy of big business" why wouldn't all workers make minimum wage. You had no answer

And I'm talking about the 4%? Thought that was clear.
