When they showed clips of the last great ninja war, they did a good job capturing some of the grim reality and the brutality of it all. I was hoping for a return to this when the war broke out, teams ragged and on the brink.
I was expecting odd ball teams combining their jutsu for quick and deadly fighting (I'm not saying everyone dies but deadly in the no-nonsense sort of way). Achieving objectives in a ninja like fashion, not open british empire style army vs army. I think this was rushed job plot wise and it really does not have the gravity it should.
What do you think?
