Nagato and Itachi are equal in a 1vs1. Obviously Nagato has way more destructive power than Itachi, but Itachi isn't exactly the best match-up for Nagato either. They were both really nerfed, Nagato way more than Itachi which results in them being equal when they were alive.

As Edos, I would even go as far to say that Edo Itachi>Edo Nagato. Why? Because Edos keep on coming back no matter how many times you kill them and Itachi can seal away Nagato. Nagato doesn't have any sealing tech for Edos in his arsenal.

At ur earlier argument, they are spiritual weapons, but still, they are from susanoo and still are chakra based. The reason why oro thought he could get it because he didn't realize that these weapons were spiritual and linked to susanoo. Nagato didn't attempt to absorb because he (kabuto) didn't even see the totsuka gg behind the smoke. As for the summons, he wont only be having to beware the summons, he has to dodge lasers and missles. Shinra tensei has a 5 second gap, but its power nonetheless is still devastating. Nagato has a variety of techs to spare him the 5 sec vunerablility. If Itachi is gonna use MS techs, he needs to use them sparingly, if he uses amaterasu on a summoned animal, then that further will drain him. Also, I am fully aware that Nagato isn't immune to visual genjutsu, I stated that his rinnigan can overcome itachi's tsuko, which would further drain itachi, its has been shown that itachi gets drained after using a large amount of MS power. And its going to take a large amount of power to take on Nagato, anything less is assured defeat.

Oh yeah, not to mention Itachi did 99% of the work against Prime Nagato. Actually killed him once, AND left him without a left arm, after he came back alive and BEFORE the chibaku tensei happened.
He came up with a tactic to counter a jutsu few panels after he has first seen it.
Only thing Naruto could do is as much as mighty Konohamaru: Rasengan xd

Also there is a reason Nagato and Itachi were revived in the same "team", there is a reason for the quote: "Madara's Two most powerful forces, Itachi and Nagato..." from the manga.

So saying Nagato stomps Itachi is pure crap. They are at least equal in strength, potrayal wise, so no, just like Naruto cannot "stomp" Sasuke or vice versa, they are similar in strength.

Actually why the hell am i even taking the time to argue this.

Itachi took out all the summons' with just shuriken and amaterasu. Yata mirror blocks the lasers and missiles. Nagato took quite a while to break out of Frog Song and Kotoamatsukami, Tsukiyomi, as well as Izanami are all more powerful than that. What's stopping Itachi from killing him while he is caught in the genjutsu? He doesn't have the ability to break it instantly. Nothing is. He doesn't have any answer to Itachi's higher level genjutsu, just like Itachi has no answer to his shinra tensei. That's why I think they're even when they were alive. But if Nagato was healthy and not crippled, then I would be more than happy to agree with you that he beats Itachi easily.

Itachi does have intel on him and knows his secret, so I think that they are equal and either would have a chance due to Nagato being so nerfed. But healthy Nagato roflstomps healthy Itachi though.

Kabuto knew about all of Nagato's rinnegan techs except for the fact that he was a sensor U_U

Alive Itachi and Alive Nagato as we saw them were equal according to Kishi's portrayal(Nagato was seriously nerfed. Couldn't even fight on his own and had to use the paths. In a fight though, Itachi has a good chance of winning due to knowing his secret, but it could go either way. Nagato said that Jiraiya would have won if he knew his secret so I would give this to Itachi, extremely high diff)
