I don't mind it that much... It's only understandable that the writers want to end a famous series in an 'epic' way. And the majority of people think big attacks are a lot more impressive than tactics, especially if it takes out a lot of people at once.

I'm slightly hoping the fight between Kakashi and Obito will bring in some balance. Obito's fighting style is quite diverse and extremely smooth. And Kakashi's figthing style has always been about strategy.

Trust me you would get tired of watching the same process and story telling.
I think Kishi did an amazing job with developing the story and plot, creating mind boggling twists and turns, character development and whatnot.
Yes the manga has changed in a major way but I think it was for the better.

I do kind of miss it too, but it reminds me of RPG games like Final Fantasy. It starts out simple, but as the story progresses you end up fighting near Gods/Gods or powerful bosses that are next to impossible to defeat without leveling up to the maximum. It's how most stories go in the end.
