i think i saw somewhere that the senju and the uzumaki clans were distant relatives. tsunade being the grand daughter of hashirama senju would make her and kushina distant relatives.

Senju and Uzumaki are distant relatives.
Mito Uzumaki--->______----> Tsunade
Mito and Kushina are from the Uzumaki Clan.
Red hair is a common trait for uzumakis, and its likely that she was
from that clan.
I dont think they're so distant though,
Kushina same group with Mito, and mito is just the grandma of tsunade.
