As someone who is neutral and doesn't subscribe to fanaticism as it relates to any of the shipping camps, I have to say that this entire thing lacks any logical or reasonable development. After reading a lot of sources and spoilers for the new movie what I've gathered thus far is that the movie begins with naruto having unacknowledged feelings for hinata,..the same person he didn't acknowledge a confession from what was it?? 2...3 years prior to the movie and now we're supposed to believe he would have latent feelings for someone he had sparse communication with throughout the series. A lot o f the development they had occurred in fillers so to me this seems tacked on. Also, what's with sasuke getting thirty seconds of screen time to say "When naruto isn't here I protect the village"....what is the purpose of that??? Why bother even showing him in the trailer then since it's really no different than a cameo appearance???
Look, I'm not saying naruto and hinata didn't have anything before the film...I'm just saying it's a bit fast to have such an intense interaction without even dating the person at all.
