This entire thing completley lacks any logic to me (not salty but purely objective)

Not many romantic moments. The other movies would just have small teases, like the heroine of the movie finding Naruto attractive after he saves them. In the first Naruto Shippuden movie, at the end the heroine named Shion asks Naruto if he can bear her children. However, she asks in an indirect way by saying "Would you like to help me continue the next generation?" and Naruto replies "yes", which leaves Sakura/Kakashi/etc face-palming. Lol



Kishimoto considers the movie to be canon since he came up with the plot and had them revise the script until he was satisfied. So, it dictates a little more than just the timeline in which the movie is set.
The other movies (outside of RTN, he influenced that too) didn't involve him.

Yea I saw the clips of the interview and we will get some replies to questions left out in the manga. But the movie is relying heavily on retcons and while watching the movie people need to be prepared for it.
