This doesn't feel like a 'war' anymore? My analysis so far.

I agree for most parts, but tell me. What do you know of real war?

I imagine that the guy plays call of duty, and actually believes that it is based on real life... it used to be... not anymore... either way unless you live war you simply don't know. Kishi is doing a great job, fighting a ninja war while still keeping the individualality of the characters, its not an easy thing to do n if this thinks he can do a better job then let him, PLUS when was the last time we had a real ninja war in real life? ninja are meant to fight int he shadows not fight wars... samurai are the exception, so if anything kishi is only telling the story like he imagines a ninja war to be

Don't agree at all. I think you're just being a little childish honestly (don't take that the wrong way I don't mean it as an insult).

The alliance were just getting their butts kicked chapter after chapter awhile ago. The 5 kage got demolished, then right after that Kakashi and crew were struggling against Obito, then Madara showed up and brought the juubi, then he killed everyone at headquarters, then Neji died right after that. I'll quote something you said in your thread

Maybe these recent events are the "glimpse of inspiration" that you say is supposed to be in a war. Seriously we just went through chapter upon chapter of fighting and bloodshed. Now finally the 4 Hokages have come to help, and as a result everyone is feeling a renewed sense of confidence and resolve that wasn't present recently, which has even led to someone like Sakura joining the main battlefield and trying to use her true potential.

Just saying, it sounds like all you want is there to be non-stop fighting and action. Which isn't a war. There are emoitonal sides to a war too you know. After all you are out there fighting with your comrades who you supposedly built an iron clad bond with, and they are suddenly dying all around you. I don't see a problem with Kishi devoting a few chapters to slow things down and give the alliance a little pick-me-up after all they've been through. Plus, this isn't Jarhead you know. It's still a cartoon. So you should expect the war to be watered down. He does have to cater these episodes a little to be "tv ready" for the kiddies who watch the anime

I can see your point and I understand that. I don't particularly want an manga where it's all fighting because like you said tat would be boring. I'm just saying that maybe the conversations can be watered down a little so that it could flow better with the progress of the plot.

The war arc is over... we're in the "Ten Tails Revival" Arc.

War ended when Itachi released Edo Tensei, lol

Yes I don't know what real war is like but if he is trying to portray the horrors of the world wars like he has done during Shippuden, then he could water down the comedy a little.

didn't read, but I will agree with the title of this thread. Wars typically last longer than three days, and don't usually include two men, one of which is a zombie, plus the most powerful beast to ever exist vs. 30,000 or so nameless fodders, 1 naruto, 1 sasuke, and 4 of the strongest ninja in history containing the strongest beast to ever exist in question.

He has portrayed it in the fashion of the story, the story is by no means based on real life, plus you forget that most of the people fighting in this war have never been in a war, they are basically children, in my opinion they are acting exactly how a maturing child would act in war. A lot of the comedy is based around nostalgia anyways, naruto has just met his dad face to face, sasuke has just had a massive change of heart after running around being the tough guy rogue ninja so obviously naruto is going to act the only way he knows how with sasuke like when they were genin since that is technically the last time they were together as friends

Yeah I agree, all of their comrades died, even there fathers. But they dont seem to give a **** :| Naruto barely even acknowledged Minato, and Sasuke's laughing like this shit is funny. Its serious time goddamit. I like Sakura's new powerup, but she seems to be to focused on caching up to them. Shouldnt she and everyone else be worried about avenging neji, or the other 50,000 that died? Naruto was all like "I wont let anyone die" in the beginning, but now that everyones dying, he doesnt seem to care :sy:

The whole point of this is the break the cycle of hatred explained by jiraiya and pein... obviously they are going to do whatever they can to not go along with it, yeah neji died, but this is war, you don't get time to grieve in real life u wait till everyone else is safe then grieve afterwards

I agree with what you're trying to say. It's like the dark atmosphere that was being built up has shifted to something more playful with all the jokes being made and whatnot.

Honestly, the thousands of other alliance members should just go home. They're irrelevant now that the Hokages are there and Team 7 Dream Team is taking control. The gap in power between main characters and others is entirely too big

I'd rather see it ended early but well than be dragged out and all over the place.

i do not see it being that way. i think its perfect. its going steady by the end of 2013 it might end or might end in a couple months of 2014.

by everyone saying hokage is bringing hope to everyone there is still a chance to win. they were losing hope till the hokages showed up.

and foreshadowing tsunade's death. maybe

The only important deaths we had were from Neji & HQ , we need more important characters to die , kishi doesn have the balls to pull the trigger & the war feels like a soap opera right now ...im good now im bad & im good again , my feels & love you , i dont , the world , i want hashi instead ...blah blah blah ................This war arc get a 5/10

its not a war anymore.

its pretty much a fight for survival and stopping the juubi from unleashing a planetary dustruction.

I guess that makes sense. I'm just hoping this is the last arc because I can't see any villain surpassing Obito, Madara and the Juubi.

Some people missed the point...

Yes; people are dead and we know that; but what are the results on alive ones' actions of these deaths, Ino and Shikamaru lost their fathers; now the whole "aww sweet nostalgia" things can be heard from Ino; dafuq?
And Neji; he was their friend who died minutes ago; now hokage jokes and Derp faces flying around from almost all rookie 9? They need to be more serious. Team Gai is nowhere and I do not know why; but Lee seemed to gave a proper reaction for Neji's death -grief and kicking ass resulted from anger- others should be on this situation too. In fact; I am glad Kishi did nov show Tenten and Lee if they would just Derp around like others.

There is No intensity; that's the thing imo; and one of the reasons is hokages. Yes they became major fighters in this battle; but they are zombies and it won't matter if they are hurt, bisected or dead; because it won't matter to them. And they are not even developed characters; all they have is power and this does not make them interesting.

For real doe lol like Naruto is already top tier epsilon of narutoverse, no other villain can stand up to him.
Oh well but Naruto had a great run though.
