I had this in my mind for quite some time now. I have never purchased a Naruto volume before so I'm considering it doing so now for my own pleasure (as well as other Naruto fans that are close to me). As far as I know, the advantages of buying one are:

- you get a nice hard-cover book with beautifully coloured-covers that you don't normally see on manga sites - the cover is coloured by Kishimoto himself and thus is canon (which can provide some helpful information)

- it's easily accessible - you can put it in your car, shelf, etc... and can read it as much times as you want whenever you like to instead of having to go online and search for the chapters you want to re-read (you're meant to buy volumes containing the chapters that you like and want to read again)

- the translations are considered the most accurate as the volumes are officially translated by VIZ themselves, hence you can enjoy reading the manga without worrying much about the translation

- you are directly supporting the series by paying for it

So for those who have purchased volumes before, can you provide some insight to people like me on what it's like to buy the volumes and have it in your own hands? Also are there extra content like interviews of the author, cover pages of characters or something? It would be nice to know if there was.

Btw I don't live in America so if I were to purchase a volume, I would have to pay quite a large shipping fee. Hence, it's best if I were to buy multiple volumes at the same time with just a shipping fee attached to it. So don't go around saying "why don't you just buy a volume and see if you like it for yourself?" because that's not a wise option.

There's little author notes from Kishimoto at the beginning of each volume

Buy some volumes that have your favorite parts in them, you really have nothing to lose. And manga volumes arent hard cover, they are paperback. Plus even the pages that were colored in the SJ mag aren't colored in volumes (at least not in the volumes I have). But I still recommend buying a few they sometimes have a few extras in them

The longer a book ages, the better it smells. This is reason enough. If I had the money right now. I'd buy the complete Naruto series. All the way from "Naruto vol.1" to the last printed "Naruto Shippuden". I do own the first ever volume of shonen jump to come to America though. I bought it at a grocery store for like 6.00$. I'm proud to say I own the first few volumes of shonen jump, and still do. That was like ten years ago, when barely anybody in America still knew about Naruto, One Piece, Sand Land and Shaman King, or even shonen jump for that matter.

Can you tell me why though? I don't want to have any regrets after I purchase some of them :erm:

What's a nice interest lol? Do you mean discount? Because that ain't gonna happen. Or do you mean "if you are interested into it, then go ahead and buy one"? Because if you do, I just don't want to have any regrets.

I love the series, no doubt. But I dunno if it's worth my money or not.

Thanks for the correction and your input.

Lol this made me laugh hard.

Also, those that have purchased volumes of other series may share their perspectives on this topic.

Well when i was very little, about 11 or 12 i bought my first 2 manga volumes of naruto Number 26 and number 27. And man was i so excited because the episodes were only at the sundae arc at the time and i watched it weekly on toonami. I was sooooo hyped because it was Naruto vs Sasuke at the end and then Kakashi gaiden.

Kakashi gaiden became my favorite arc ever. Ive read it so many times. Its why obitos been my favorite character since i got it haha. But holding it in your hands is awesome, I stare at the naruto and sasuke clash whenever i read it. and the kakashi obito half face, and the whole page of kakashi charging chidori. Theres just a good feeling you get lmao

And Just recently i decided to buy volume 63 and 64 and 65 because its obits back story and progression and i wanted to just have them to read whenever i want. And the Madara and Hashirama backstory that when just read thru all the way in one go is just awesome. And that kyuubi susanoo and The cages standing on there faces is just a whole nother feeling to have in your hands. :)

I say get one or 2 and see if you like it :)

Honestly This ^^ If i had the money id buy all the volumes and read them all from time to time til the end. I used to subscribe to shonen jump monthly and get the one that had a few chapters of each series but the book is HUGE compared to volumes lol like magazine size.

Yeah I think you should definitely buy them. I loved the series too and I ordered 3 of my favorite volumes only because I wanted to support the official release and Kishimoto. It's also nice to read back over them anytime :)

Obviously it would cost a ridiculous amount of money to own all of the volumes, but it is worth it to buy a few of your favorite volumes at least. That's what I did and I'm planning on buying a few more later today.

Not to mention, there's those three-in-one releases that Viz has been doing to get you more for your money if you want to buy volumes from part 1.
